Post Re: Movies
I've been saying this for a bit now: Hollywood is completely out of original ideas. If you look at most of the movies out there in the past few years, they're all sequels or remakes (or "re-imaginings", as some Hollywood faggots say)

Post Re: Movies
The entire entertainment industry as a whole as gone down the drain since the late 90's early 2000's.
Part of it is what Joe just said, lack of originality, the whole deal where every movie now has to have a sequel and now prequel too?? I mean where does it end... even the hangover movie became some trilogy to be explored in depth I mean really?? whats next a prequel to brokeback mountain?? "before he was gay he was straight...." you know what I mean?? Its gotten so F*CKING ridiculous, Hell they are making a starwars 7 right now and lets be real about this, THEY ARE ONLY MAKING IT FOR MONEY. They don't care about the story being ruined or anything, its ALL about the $$$$$$.
Music industry is the same way, all you need to be famous now is born with good looks and come from a wealthy background and that's it! They got people to write your lyrics, voice synthesizers and BAM! your an instant pop star. Who cares if your music sucks??? you got a pretty face so young dumb people will pay money to watch you dance on stage lip-syncing a song they did not even write.

However, none of this compares to modern day television. I used to hear adults back in the 90's talk about tv being crap, but at least back then the shows were funny and entertaining. Ever since the writers strike in 2009 every show now is about (a) Pretty rich women and metrosexual men going to clubs and talking about who is F*CKING who while drinking all the time while they F*CK someone who is shocked to find out they fucked someone else that they wanted to F*CK.
(b) Family sitcom where there dad is a big fat bald idiot and lets his wife and kids boss him around (c.) crime shows where the detectives are all super geniouses and solve every crime by themselves and violate peoples rights but its ok because they do it to catch criminals.
and notice every show now is about 1.drugs.2.Guns.3 immoral behavior involving characters who do nothing but lie cheat and steal to get their way.
just watch tv now and count the seconds until you see an ad or scene of someone using a gun....its F*CKING crazy every movie now is about using guns to solve your problems.
I am not against guns, hell I was in the army, but I don't understand why EVERY movie and most shows have to be about using guns to solve your problems.....notice that never works out in real life even if you use a gun to protect yourself the police still try and charge you with a crime.... its fucked up. But yeah man entertainment industry today is a joke and is why I don't even watch Tv other than my RAYS and Buccs. To hell with hollyweird, to hell with todays music and to hell with tv, turn the damn thing off and read some news online or some good books.

Post Re: Movies
I'm not jaded, so I enjoy most movies, however, I actually am kinda jaded, so I always have to take myself out of my own mental state, and look at the movie as a baby and say to myself "Yeah that's a plothole, or that's overly done, or that's not how it would happen in real life" HOWEVER You have to let that shit go, just look at the movie and enjoy the really good parts and ignore the bad parts.
As a writer I hate watching movies, I usually feel like there are parts of the plot i could've written better, I'm an egostitical douche bag..
If all elese fails just go watch Sunshine, or blast the score to no end.

Post Re: Movies
Well, I used to think the same thing, but I stopped watching TV when I was in High School. And that was 1995. So, for about 18 years now I haven't seen much of TV or movies. It's actually cool because nowadays I can just pick what movies I want to watch. There are so many good movies that I haven't seen yet, and old ones that I like to watch again. I actually picked up two good movies from the thrift store recently since people are donating all their DVD s. Die Hard 2 (which is just as good as the first one) and The Chronicles of Riddick. I have the movies in front of me that I got from thrift stores and discount movie places. Terminator 2, X2, Fight Club, Gladiator, House of 1000 Corpses, Batman Begins, Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy, Lord Of The Rings trilogy, Blade, The Hitcher (the new one with Sean Bean), Tommy Boy, Pet Sematary, V For Vendetta, and Cabin Fever. I really enjoy watching Game Of Thrones (can't wait until March 31st) and a few shows that I liked since I missed out on TV were: Criminal Minds, The Walking Dead, Malcolm in the Middle, Breaking Bad, Scrubs, and believe it or not I liked Charmed and watched all 8 seasons. I watched the Hobbit, and The Avengers when it came to the theatre but that was about it. Some of the Cult Classic movies that I watch over and over are The Big Lebowski, Ninja Turtles Part 1 and 2, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Problem Child 2, and Hamburger University (Among other cheesy 80s movies). If you like cheesy 80s movies I have a separate list for those. But to get a good idea of what I'm talking about check out Hamburger University or Revenge of The Nerds.

It's funny you say that because that makes me think you've never seen it. Terrorists taking over planes, the use of old 90s technology, drug cartel, government corruption, and one man in an Airport meeting his wife for Christmas taking it upon himself to stop it all? The cheesy cliche lines are what get me in these movies. "Now I know what it feels like to be a TV dinner." I can never forget that.

so if you havnt noticed Hollywood's movies all have an undertone about something political. to push gay HOMOSEXUAL rights, to push medical marijuana, to push letting spics and other shitty bad/no moral value people into our country as citizens, and so on and so fourth.. some people don't realize all media today has a political agenda, making watching tv/movies/documentaries tought. but on that note.. PORN F*CKING ROCKS THESE DAYS.. oh my some hot teenage slut with a nice tight pink box and no meat curtains licking her just as hott friend's box and .... brb!

yeah I didn't mean to go on a long rant like that, and I agree with most of what everyone else has said, todays movies suck, every time I hear about a new movie I start to get excited and then realize Hollywood hasn't put out anything good in years, I just want them to reboot X-men and make a real awesome Zelda movie but I want it done good and not rushed for profit which will most likely happen in the future anyway , kinda shocked they havnt made it yet since most gamers who have played Zelda have now grown up and they have made so many other horrible movies based off games (street fighter......awesome game...HORRIBLE film)

also heard they have been working on a warcraft movie for many years now
