Mmm I was wondering how I would go about OC'ing too, but I think a good idea would be to upgrade your CPU fan/Heatsink first. Ram looks good enough! I believe theres a help thread stickied in Tech support.

First off, what's the idle temperature of your CPU? Secondly, what's the maxed-out temp?

If you don't know how to find either of these out, then you don't need to overclock anything.

Ive read ocelots guide and its a piece of shit like he was.

My idle core temp is about 35-40C and according to Intel's website my Q6600's MAX safe temp is 60C

If you want to know google your mobo and find a few threads that people have made about overclocking on that board. Then do the same thing about the cpu. Next do the ram if you want to overclock it. Once you find out the make people have got on all of them you know what the max you can try for. But be warned overclocking is the luck of the draw you might get one that lets you set records or you might get one that won't go over 5%. O when you increase the voltage in small amounts first. Do the cpu first and find the max you can get before it won't boot up for you anymore. I'm tired of typing so find the rest of it on the net.

It was probably one of the worst $209 investments I've ever made. I find it is extremely hard to play video games with a giant dick in your ass.

Its really easy.Just go into your bios and set cpu to user define and up the fsb in small increments and try it out.Just keep going up till it wont boot. Then fall back to your last over clock and bench it with 3d mark and torture test it with prime 95.Unless your running very high doller ram As in ddr2 1200 you better back the ram down a notch as it will overclock itself when you up the fsb.Like if you have ddr2 800 make it 533 in your bios.No your ram wont be slower, after upping the fsb it will most likely come in over 800 mhz.

Never ever add volts, just get what you can on stock volts and you should be fine on temps.Adding volts adds volts to everything and is more likely to burn shit up.Only time you want to add volts is when your benching just see how high you can get for short periods of time.Never for day to day use. With that cpu you should be able to get 3.0 easily.

And the guide in here is really good just a little vague. But still a good reference point.
