the truth is we will NEVER know what really happened. It was war. all sides and all factions lied to get troops into the military.

I'm not taking anybodys side here but if you think our country has never lied about war propaganda you need a reality check.

I served during this time of war and I remember bush's "WMD" speech every tuesday (the whole basis of Iraq war) wich turned out to be a bold face lie.

So if they lie to us in war in modern times they most certainly came up with good lies back then.

The numbers are not inflated. In fact most estimates are likely conservative. The fact is that at least 6 million jewish people were killed by the Nazis, but about half were not killed in death camps. That is what deniers latch onto. They make false statements that the Nueremburg trials were focused solely on death camps, and then try and break down the arguments into logistical analysis to support the claims that 6 million jews could not have been killed in death camps.

The fact is ~1 million died from being forced into ghettos rife with disease and lacking adequate food and medicine, ~1.5 million were murdered in the streets by death squads in open air shootings, and ~500 thousand more died in transit or while in detention other than concentration camps. Death camps and forced labor camps accounted for the death of about 3 million jews. All of this was part of the Holocaust.

Reading selective analysis of the facts written by idiots who only want to perpetuate their racist agendas could easily lead someone to believe that the estimates are inflated. David Cole is one of the worst because he publishes material under a psuedonym as a disconnected scientist analyzing "facts" which are misinterpreted and blatantly misstated to support his arguments.

The best source of data is the Nueremburg archive. All the evidence is there and it was gathered and recorded immediately after the war. The historical record that was built by the international prosecution team is undeniable.

I can't say why he mentioned your name, but I think people get mad because of how many of the past threads have turned into stuff about the holocaust. I think that horse has been beat into dust.

It's not just other people that get involved in the arguments though. Quite often I see you get involved in the arguments. Which is fine, but the way you phrase your comments sometimes just seems a little over board. In my opinion, it's the way you involve yourself in the arguments that make you a key target.
