Take it from someone who's probably posted more stupid or useless (by the opinion of other n00bfest community members) stuff: You'll figure out really quick what people respond positively to. Sometimes you just don't know though, which is why I still get flamed pretty hard on the reg. That and some people just like to flame on people with different views. My recommendation is to expand your interests into things that resonate with various members of the community and to post with some semblance of intelligent thought.

I've been threatened with bans multiple times, and I've had plenty of locked threads, some for reasons having nothing to do with me. In fact I had a thread locked in the past 24 hours, and if you read that forum, you'll know why. Just put some thought into what you post and post in the correct section. When in doubt, ASK SOMEONE on steam or via forum PM and wait until you're sure before posting. Also, use the SEARCH function which is located in the text links above the list of forums. That way you'll know whether or not an issue has been addressed, or if you need to find something out, you might already have the answer available to you. Talk to as many community members as you can and feel them out for the kind of vibe they give off and how they respond to various stimuli, which will help you target your threads to the appropriate people if necessary.
