 Gun Wishlist Thread
Since Zombies are gay and I refuse to post in that other gay thread that mentions zombies, I'll do it here. What 3 firearms would you like to have above all others? Let's keep this realistic -- it has to be something that actually exists, and can't be anything larger than 80 caliber/20mm bore diameter. I'll go first: A M1903 Mark I w/ Pedersen Device -- the device is actually what makes this gun. The M1903 is about ~800-1000, but the Pedersen devices are priceless. An O'Dwyer VLeA Colt 1911 Machine Pistol like John Dillinger had

 Re: Gun Wishlist Thread
I'm not a big gun guy. (read as I own zero guns)
My parents just never had any, and they never went hunting or anything of the sort. I've shot some of my old roommate's guns, and it was a lot of fun. I'm also a fairly big military history buff, particularly 1912ish-1945. Love that shit. I'm thinking of starting to collect some vintage guns. The first will probably be an all original 1911 from 1918 or sooner. Looking around I've seen some decent looking ones (with a S/N under 200,000) for as cheap as 1,700 and ranging up to 3,500 for standard models. Some of the vintage ones with custom add-ons can get to be crazy expensive.
After a 1911, I'll probably look into some more pistols, possibly rifles. Like:
Browning HP Nambu (Would like a Type A, but probably a Type 14) Sauer 38H Luger P08 Mauser C96 (I'm not sure the legality of owning one of these)
Always wanted a Mauser G98... Just love the idea of a vintage bolt action.

There's no selector switch on that.

 Re: Gun Wishlist Thread
My point is that it's not an M14 if it's semi-auto.

 Re: Gun Wishlist Thread
I once saw a guy make a gun out of a vacuum cleaner handle and a rifle without a stock. it was LOL. He also had a fully functional rifle with a traditional stock and I stood next to a window with curtains with it loaded waiting for people who were harassing him to show up so I could shoot them. I'd been living with a street gang, and apparently they trusted me with a loaded weapon and expected me to kill. The kids just kept driving by and chucking rocks at the house, so I didn't get to go to jail for murder, which is probably for the best.
My mom never let me have a gun, not even a BB gun, but a squirt gun and a cap gun were okay. Therefore I've never fired a real gun, though I know plenty of people who own guns and could probably ask to shoot them. I have held a few guns but only hunting rifles like a Winchester 30/30 and other similar weapons and a pistol or two. That's about all though.
Next chance I get, I'll pop into the local gun show which happens something like 10x a year, and handle a few things and maybe then I'll be able to contribute to this thread without sounding like an idiot.
