Dude has a game of Civ 2 running as far as 3991 A.D. over the span of ten years of playtime. Constant war between 3 superpowers, constantly nuking eachother and spending every resource on rebilding their vast armies. IS THIS THE FUTURE?

Also, a ton of the comments are tangential and related to the Dune book series, which I finally got around to reading. I had found an original copy of the Dune paperback from probably it's first printing (not in very good shape...but still had all the pages), and started from there about 2 weeks ago. Still reading Children of Dune but I digress. Apparently the best comment on there had to do with altering the guy's political stance from communism to fundamentalism in order to produce more money and suffer less dissent from the populace.

Realistically speaking we've done quite a bit there that could construed as "war".

Jet, the East Asia references are from George Orwell's 1984, which you probably didn't read or don't remember reading. If you read the reddit article, the damn thing is rife with 1984 and Dune references. Furthermore, if you do a cross-analysis between Orwell's 1984 and the sort of society that is being created under the guidance of the Council on Foreign Relations, the United Nations and the Royal Institute for International Affairs, it is pretty much par for the course.

Ohhhhhh, everything is starting to make sense now 1984 wasn't required reading in any of my classes so I've never read it.
