Radeon 4870 Problem Catelist not running HELP ?
Hey guys -
I have a problem - i have this radeon 4870 and i just installed it on my computer but i cant get the Catelist to start.
the card works but i cant play any games... the game starts in a smal window and then stops working.. just closes the windo.
Also the card is running hot but i read that its because the fan is set on low and i would be able to change it in the catelist but .. i cant start it..
i am running win 7 ... can i am on the card right now .... and its working just not very well..
HELP anyone.. ???

My best advice for you buddy is to uninstall the drivers and install them again, since sometimes video drivers have a tenancy to not install correctly. Also, it is possible that the most recent drivers are buggy. If the first step doesn't work, try using an older more stable version of the cat drivers.

thats what happened to me. I had to go back to the drivers that came on the cd with my vid card (4850) cause the new ones completely fucked off all games.

I was messing with it for about an 1h - and found online that i would have to uninstall eveything with AMD and ATI - and also go in safe mode and delete some tokens that had some with number e92.... and for what ever reason that this tokens are the problem - and only show up if its not installed right. So i did reinstalled drivers and ASWOME.. working fine now.. thank you guys anyways.. now i played Counterstike right after that and got 150FPS witch was ASWEOMe.. and finally i KILLED more then i sucked with 20FPS... made a BIG DIFFRENTS .. Now i just have to set up the catelyst since the Card RUNS really hot like at 60F to 70F but for what ever reason they set the fan up at like 20% i just made it a bit faster like 50% and i am at 40F . have not put my settings up yet though in counterstike to try it out.. I know its an old Card but will do for a bit and i will go and get me a NEW high end card..
Now does anyone know how i should set up the catalyst ????
