 Re: First Build
A very smart build and I am in love with that low profile vengance RAM, didn't know they made that.
As for an optical drive get some OEM LITEON drives, they're minimal and simple as F*CK in the front.

 Re: First Build
Thanks Tazzaler, amazed i got the build nice. Also i read somewhere (in a guide in found) that the cpu has to be compatible with the mobo, im guessing from your good response that the cpu/mobo i chose are compatible? Or am i just reading garbage?

 Re: First Build
I just got the CM Storm Scout case and love it! The cases they make are nice. I also have a quad kit of that very same Ram so you won't be disappointed.

 Re: First Build
Why dodn't you spend the extra $30 and get the 6 core?

 Re: First Build
Just thinking longevity. I used to buy a new half decent system every two years but decided to go balls out this build and try and make it last with more room for upgrading down the road.

 Re: First Build
See what i do is i build a decent pc $600-$800 that will last about 3-4 years. I upgrade the parts (Extra or newer graphics card, more RAM, etc.) and get about another year or two.
Then try to sell it for a little bit of cash usually around $300-$350ish.
Then start all over again. Next build should be in about a year or so :)

 Re: First Build
i started with a good 700 dollar build, but ended up upgrading so much of it i had enough parts to build a complete separate build lol

 Re: First Build
Bumping because i got a question and it doesn't make sense to make a thread on just 1 question. Are PCI express slots forward compatible? Can I use the GPU (PCI Express 2.1 x16) I chose with the motherboard (PCI Express 2.0 x16) I chose? From what I've read i can but I wanna see what you guys say before i drop more $$.

Pcie slots are forward/backwards compatible For example you can run a pcie 3.0 card in a 2.1 slot (it will just run at 2.0 speeds) Likewise if you had a pcie x16 card it would run in a pcie 3.0 slot just at reduced x16 speeds PCIE doesn't matter as long as its a pcie x16 card it should work in any pcie x16 slot
