Post Ftp server for win7
Hey guys..
Does anyone know in win7 how to make the ftp server work..
I am curently not using a win password to log in.. But i would like to have my brother dump a bunch of files on my pc
And i would like to use ftp.. (hes in germany) Now i know there a way to make it work.. The old winxp pc i have i got it running
But it always asked for a username and password.. And my win user name and password didnt work..
I know i have to port forrword port 21 and all.. Just need help setting it up in win 7.. i found this enable ftp server client and internet services in win7 but what now where do i go. And set the sever up? Help me...

I thought most ISP would block incoming ftp/http connections on residential accounts.

In any case, just boot up a linux disk and let him sftp into the box. It's a lot safer and less hassel.

Just Google it. you probably just forgot to open something on your firewall, or forgot to enable part of the service.

Yeah.. TWC does not... And if they did you really only need to ask to have it opend for some game or make something up.. Or just dont is port 21 use another port.. As long as you dont do buisness stuff tou shoud be good.. But.. Thank you i go it working... my brother from germany is dumping some files on my pc.. I am very surpriced that win 7 made it very symple..
