I'm guessing that more of the savvy types here have already read it ages ago, but I finally picked it up today and am about a quarter through it. It's a very interesting combination of psychology and economics, trying to uncover the decisions companies and individuals make based on human nature and incentives. For those of you that know anything about the book, what are your thoughts?

I thought it was an entertaining read. I don't think it should be taken as a very rigorously scientific approach to economics (to the extent that such a thing even exists), but it's fun to think about basic principles of econ with their neat/interesting little vignettes. It should be more of an interest-starter than an answer to complicated questions though, in my opinion.

I think it does a great job injecting critical thought into a lot of issues. As far as finding answers, the book doesn't do anything. It is purely descriptive. There is no model that it pushes for how to get crack dealers off the streets or stop crime and so forth. However, with the added perspective, perhaps solutions to these issues would be easier to find.
