Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin (books that spawned Game of Thrones series on HBO) - you won't find more compelling and relatable characters in any other books. Even if you've watched the series, the books are of course better and WELL worth the read.

Just finished the hunger games it was amazing

I love the books by Vince Flynn. Ive read all 12, the 13th one comes out on Tuesday.

I agree with Jet on Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, a Sci-Fi space-war novel. It's a great book, but the sequels don't match it.

I highly reccommend anything by J.D. Salinger (Realistic fiction based in the 50s -- not something I'd expect anyone to like) and Heinlein (Sci-Fi: Stranger in a Strangeland, Starship Troopers, For Us, The Living, etc.)

One of the first books I really enjoyed is Battle Royale, a Japanese book comparable to Lord of the Flies, except in this case their forced to fight to the death.

The book I'm currently reading is 1Q84, a total mind-fuck. Translated from Japanese, it's still amazingly-written. Pulp Fiction style and some very mature parts.

After this, I'm going to start the Dark Tower series, since Hooker recommends it so well.

I've read the books but I didn't read them until after I listened to every single one in audio format. The audiobooks are where it's at when it comes to the Ender series.

i feel like you would love The Book of Five Rings. Short book but its one you read more than once.

Getting To Yes

This is a good book that will help you in the workplace and in everyday conflicts. It does a good job of condensing thousands of pages and years of study into a quick read. Its amazing how much money I have borrowed for these degrees that are basically a list of books to read lol.

Anything Stephen King. This guy is brilliant. Aside from the obvious, read Cormac McCarthy's The Road. Holy f*ck, it's good.

If you're into fantasy, Stephen King's Dark Tower series is fantastic.

I agree, it's probably the best I've read but that's a tough call. I enjoy every SK book I read and while some of them look like he just phoned it in, even when he does phone it in, it comes across better than say, Dean Koontz who kind-of sucks imo.

I recently read the biography of Steve Jobs and enjoyed it. I would also recommend Legacy of Ashes, an interesting book about the history of the CIA.
