It's not photoshopped, it was ripped directly from a government site. A friend of mine tells me that between the object and mercury is a magnetic field, and that the object itself is probably just solar wind being projected into the camera.

You guys are not seeing the big picture! Aliens have already been here and liked what they saw in our planet. So they abducted a few humans and researched our biological make-up. This led them to created the HIV virus to exterminate humans and harvest our planet resources. There are obvious reasons to planting the virus in Africa. Its one of the most undeveloped, yet populated continents, so the virus would spread more rapidly without being detected (and aliens are racist: fact). The virus was also genius in creation, being your infected for a very long time without symptoms, which maximizes the spread of the virus throughout the word. The virus minimizes alien casualties of an alien invasion force. That is most likely just a medical engineering ship developing a new virus, since the HIV virus has all but failed to put us on the endangered species list. Magic Johnson, of course, being their greatest failure. This is a real life Pandemic!
