Either Wernher von Braun and his team were really smart or they had some help, which again von Braun even said that they had extra-terrestrial aid. V2 rocket, atomic bomb...It's hard to believe they they suddenly just started making all these crazy weapons, and their future plans were even wilder. They were planning on making jets superior to jets even today. And the Bell - the time machine, the fact that they were working on that is even crazier. Then how many of the scientists randomly disappeared just as the war ended...really makes you think.

 Re: Ancient Aliens
The first 2 hour special like 2 or 3 yrs ago made you think a little bit because it was essentially the most ineresting and believable tidbits of season 1 and 2. But in the series, they go more in depth, and you realize that its a fantasy for academics that never wanted to grow up.

kung fu, i wholeheartedly disagree. just because they theorize answers that NO ONE can answer doesn't make it fantasy. I'd love to hear your explanations for how those pyramids, castles, monuments were built by people who were supposedly "cave men." And please also explain how gold became our form of money, when cave men had absolutely zero use for a shiny piece of metal.

You really think von Braun's team and the Occultists escaped with the Bell and Extra-terrestrials? Again there was UFO sighting above Hamburg during the time of when they were known to escape, and one of the main figures in the occult - a woman physic, asked the scientists and others if she could escape with them, AT HAMBURG. I was watching the Encounter episode last night, and one that really got me was how Germans witnessed an Alien fight in the air. There was a painted picture of it, and since religion dominated the West during that time, the drew many of the figures as crosses, but if you look at modern day jets and the paintings, they aren't that different. Kinda just points further to the idea that Aliens gave us all of our arial technology, such as airplanes and fighter jets.

Your skipping thousands of years of the barter system which evolved into rare materials having a monatary value. Which would you carry to the next village to trade for a basket? A cow or a tiny chunk of gold? Pyramids, castles, and monuments were most likely built by slaves and human ingenuity. I think most people dont realize how little of a F*CK was given for human life back then, or how smart ancient man actually could be when they stopped killing each other for a little while. Look at the Pax Romana. Then look at the well documented fall of Rome almsot 2000 yrs ago. Commoners 500 yrs ago thought Roman structures were the work of Gods simply cause they didnt understand it yet. Much like now, except our faith in God is receding while our worship of technology is just getting started.

And how it would be physically impossible to climb up the pyramid to continue to add on more. Keep in mind there are pyramids in South America too, and like Egypt, they all point in at a special spot, 3 in a row, just like Orion's belt.

 Re: Ancient Aliens
LOL it's gang-up on KuNg_Fu time. None of the logical answers has ever fit the paradigm. Considering the size to weight ratio of the stone blocks, some of them in the 100+ thousand ton range, and modern heavy-lift cranes being needed in the dozens just to life one of the goddamn things in today's world, it would be highly likely that the older civilizations would have had to use A LOT of manpower and have REALLY REALLY good ropes. Also, in the case of the pyramids, a pharaoh's entire reign would have had to have been completely focused on building one. I do however concur with the possibility of it being a chamber to use two catalyst chemicals to create a hydrogen powered microwave in order to produce electricity. It is already known that the egyptians had the use of batteries to power their embalming machines, so what the F*CK?

Build a gentle sloping dirt ramp up to each completed level and use logs and men to roll the blocks up the ramp. They never had to lift the stones. The pyramids took decades to build, and took thousand and thousands of men to build them. Your talking about generations of families living and dying to build these objects for their God Kings who really just thought of the slaves as a replaceable/cheap sorce of mechanical power. The logistics of moving all that wieght is mind blowing and hard to grasp, but could have been done. @Cyning; Finding where and how to locate the pyramids is kind of the easy part. They aligned their eternal/divine monuments up with other things that were eternal/divine to them, which happen to be, the stars and sun.

 Re: Ancient Aliens
Kung fu, you are only restating what had been common belief for decades. Now we are talking about a different and new view on these things and you area simply shooting it down with regurgitated statements. This is the same thing people had to deal with when convincing people the world was round. That's not to say that this new view is correct, but i'd just ask that you keep an open mind. Because neither of our views can be proven.
Also, I don't want this debate to make anyone think I believe there is no god. In fact, there must be a god in my opinion, because all of this universe didn't materialize from nothing all on its own. However, I do believe that religion is a very flawed thing to say the least, and was influenced by many misunderstood things that are highlighted in this documentary series.

I was answering Kwangs and Cynings reply to my posts. Also, most educated people knew the world was round centuries before Colombus was ever born. The greeks and romans proved the earth was round mathematically in the second century BC. I have an open mind towards this show and found the original special very interesting. When watching the series though, you can tell they ran out of material and are stretching facts and creditability so far that if anything believers of this theory would be the ones trying to keep the earth flat. Keep in mind that this show is on because it gets ratings from the same people that watch 2 and a half men (a show for the dumbest 20% of america). The books and material supporting ancient aliens has been out there for decades but dismissed by 99% of the other experts in their respective fields.

Yeah, I watched the first show, really liked it, have been watching more and it's just theory upon theory upon theory, but it's entertaining and it does include a great deal of archaeological or other historical frames of reference.

 Re: Ancient Aliens
I know zero stupid people who watch the history channel. In fact, only the smartest people I know watch that channel or this show in specific. Stupid people watch shoes like 2.5 men, which doesn't require you to think and entertains you, and stupid people find documentaries and the history channel boring. You are making some sweeping generalizations that all TV is for stupid people, which would then also include yourself since you've admitted to watching TV....
As for gold being taken as money because it's rare, back in the days of cave men lots of things were rare, including other metal ores and types of stones. Why would they choose only gold and silver to save and trade? Why not also nickle, copper, molybdenum, and platinum? Yes, steel/iron could be used to make swords and other useful items, but gold and silver could not. Why not discard them like the other useless metals at the time? Perhaps because they are the most electrically conductive materials in earth and maybe the universe? And perhaps they were seen as an important substance to a certain "race"of people?
What would a caveman think of you if you landed an airplane in his presence, or drove up in a car? What would he think if you told him you need gas/oil for your sky chariot / fire machine in order to get home? Would he think that liquid was pretty important? Or would he think he imagined the whole thing and go back to scratching his ass?
I'm by no means trying to argue this. As I said earlier there is no proof for either of our arguments. I just want people to start asking these questions and seriously thinking about the potential answers instead if just taking the "textbook" answer that has always been provided by people who've been told what to believe.

 Re: Ancient Aliens
I should have been clearer on my 20% comment. I meant for you to take the normal viewing audience for these types of shows and then add the 20% of asshats because of the context of the show and because it has buzz words like aliens in the title. You keep saying "caveman" like there isnt a difference of thousands of years of time and cultural/social evolution between the simple hunter/gatheres who found what shelter they could, and the sophisticated civilizations from which the evidence of this theory is derived. Gold, silver, copper, bronze, and lead were used most commonly because older civilizations didnt have the smelting technology you seem to be thinking of. (steel wasnt even a pipe dream yet) Gold, silver and such are very easy to extract from raw material and easy to manipulate because of the minimal amount of heat required to work with them. In short, they used what they had available to them. This whole argument is like discarding all the workable, plausable, convincing theories on what happened to Jimmy Hoffa; and then some eccentric academic saying, "we dont know precisely, with out a doubt, what happened to him. F*CK it, Aliens took him." Then give that eccentric group a platform to reach millions of people with a few charismatic front men. Boom, Ancient alien supporters

What about the radiation that is the same as an atomic bomb that was found in India from thousands of years ago, and it even had the same effects on the ground. Atomic bombs make the ground glassy, and the same happened in India, and hundreds of bodies were found beneath the sand. What about the Third Reich? Were the Germans really just that smart, or did they have extra help? Anyone can say anything, but Wernher von Braun said many times that he and his team had extra-terrestrial help. What about the Bell the Germans created? It was practically a time machine, and the message from the physic in the occult asking the other occult leaders if she could come with them and escape, and they all disappeared forever. No files of killing, no other sightings, just gone. What about all the ancient cities that are found in the ocean and lakes? Cities during that time that were far to superior for anyone to have made back then? What about all of the little gold artifacts that Pre-Colombians made of modern day jets and planes? It's easily possible that Aliens gave us all of our technology of flying, which points back to WWII Germany, after all the Germans are responsible for creating our space technological age. Ever hear of the money pit in Nova Scotia? Whatever is down there was put down there a very long time ago, and the traps are so high-tech that it's hard to believe any person back in those days could have made it. Our technology today can't even get to it! Whatever is buried down there is something very, very important/sacred. If we found what's down there it could b the answer to everything. Why we haven't been working on it, I don't know.

 Re: Ancient Aliens
Your talking about the Templar treasure thats maybe there. If they were 90% sure it was there instead of .5%. Rosevelt would have dug it up himself when he had money tied up there. The Germans did a shit ton of weird/eccentric/stupid/atrocious things in WW2. They were in dire straits and absolutely needed to come up with a super weapon to win the war. I think thats why they pushed technology so far and fast, because they had to. Why not claim to have alien help if it could maybe slow down their inevitable destruction when the super weapons didnt come to fruition. As far as the little plane looking artifacts; I think its just cause planes resemble birds. There is many, more likely, explanations for the radiotion levels in India. Numbers in Statistics will tell you the truth while lying to you the whole time.
