Where'd you get your online alias?
It's been a while since we've had one of these threads, and since we have a ton of new members it'd be cool to do it again.
I'll start. Not many folks know about my name, but I'll come clean here. It has jack dick to do with half life, and the fact that I've played a half-life mod for so long with the alias "Gman" is nothing but coincidence.
I started playing Tribes 1 way back in the day -- probably 1999 or so, right before I went to high school. At the time, I was a huge nerd and played Magic: the Gathering. There was a character in the game named Gerrard, who was a captain of some ship or some shit. I don't remember the exact details. I played Tribes by the name "Gerrard" for years and everybody started calling me "G-man." G-man sounded cooler so I started going by that. I dropped the dash shortly after adopting the alias and huzzah! Gman!
As for "Steamroller," one night Ginzu was at my house and we were rolling kids in some CS:S pub (pantless gaming I think). We were being OBNOXIOUS as hell and eventually got banned for "cheating" and "disrespecting admins" but one of my key phrases that night was "I F*CKING STEAMROLLED THAT KID!" Ever since then, I've been yelling at kids that I steamrolled them and shortly after that night, I changed my alias in the gameserver.
The unicode backwards-e in my name is a result of the steamcommunity name integration that came out with the orangebox update. To prevent phishing and other retarded bullshit, you can't have "Steam" in your name anymore or it makes it asterisks. So for a moment, I was "****roller" until I changed the damned e out.

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
Well, I started out as Falcon0671, which is what I still use in other games because 'Falcon' is usually taken
Im one of the least creative people I know so my name is just my High School mascot, the year I graduated, and my old football number. (Creative right, lol)
I dropped the '0671' on the same day I put on the [rct] tag because someone in the server, It was one of the Elders at the time (late 2005) made fun of me for having numbers in my name. Only then did I notice no one else had numbers so I dropped it and never looked back. and the names stuck with me ever since

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
When I started playing with you folks, I originally rolled with my regular alias, but one day decided to just change my screen name (back when CS:S didn't care about your Steam name and let you have any name in game that you wanted) to the most ridiculous name I could think of. I started playing on the server quite a bit, and I thought people would get a kick out of killing a dude named Fugly :D Then I ended up wanting to join, and after applying with the name and getting in, it stuck.
Then when I came to Fulda Gap, apparently lilKurby was like "I wonder if Fugly's is actually fugly." Then he saw me and thought I was cute. True story.

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
I created mine in 2000 when my family got it's first computer; I had to come up for a username for some site that I can't remember (had to be some gay ass shit like Neopets or the oldschool Cartoon Orbit) and I just took a wrestlers name that just came out (I was into that shit hardcore) and added something that sounded cool.
Tazz-aler
Taz was a wrestler and aler was the "sound good" part, added an extra Z just got looks.

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
When I first started playing in the n00bfest server, I played under a lot of different names. I decided I wanted a name that had something in common with one of my favorite pass times...smokin bud. I thought Canibinoid would be hard for some F*CK tards out there to pronounce. So I shortened it up a little bit and came up with Caniboid. Wala!

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
I started out with the name Vash from the Anime Series Trigun. I was that name for awhile until... well Idk but I think I got tired of it and just wanted to have a fresh start. I had never fully sceen Huromi Kenshin (another Anime Series) until then and well he is called Hitokiri Battousai which loosely translates to I believe Sword Welding Man Slayer, which of course I use guns but whatever. Back in COD (the original) I was one of the best players to the point I was getting nicknames like the Hito Headshot Hack among others because I seemed to never not kill a guy in the head. I am pure legit skill when it has came to any game so it just was funny to have people accusing me and shit like that. I have taken this name everywhere really. When my Family goes bowling I am Hito, when we are in some competition like College football pick'em with some friends of the family and stuff, I am Hito. It has just all kinda blended into my life and in games.
I am Hito, the community Megaphone, a CS Admin and a n00bfest Council member. I've been playing FPS since I was 7. Almost 21, had the same computer since I was 13 (hints why I'm so bad) That's my name, that's where it is from... and that is who I am... watch ur back.

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
My alias is pretty self explanatory, I shoots dem heads. I started playing in n00bfest in 2005 on my friends account "Cybershooter". I finally got my own account and had to come up with my own alias. I was 14 at the time and was oblivious to the whole "cool & unique" gamertag. So I just picked something that had to do with CZ (HEAD$SHOT). Later in my E-life I started going by f0` which is short for f0niggadizzle a word I made up one day. Don't know where it came from but it seemed funny at the time and has been my alias ever since. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... iggadizzle

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
when i first played cs (started somewhere in the betas) when i got to college in 2000, i use to use random names: mmpowerRanger, VaginaSaliva, woodywood
but for the most part, i used variants of woody for my online names (woody is a nickname i go by). howdyimwoody, mpyrewoody are a few others. woodyco is woody (my nickname) and co is the first 2 letters of my last name, sounded cool at the time & i just stuck with it.

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
My first gaming handle was actualy Snuggles, back when I worked at Rockstar Games. I used that name because we would all play UT after work for fun and it was fun to hear people yell that name across office. After I got into DAOC in a huge way I jokingly made the goofiest looking cleric and named him Chakotay after the character from Star Trek Voyager. Low and behold DAOC made me change my scout's name that was Snuggle's Dabear to Ramious (Bonous points if you can figure where I got that name) and my cleric became my main since nobody in my guild knew how to play one.
It wasn't till I came to CSS that I wanted something fun and I used the name of one of favorite characters from one of my all time fav shows. Cpt. Malcolm Reynolds of the ship Serenty on the show Firefly. Too bad it was only one season, the show was amazing.

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
I've had mine for 29 years. I'm named after my grandfather and it means "the shining light" basically. My first ever CS alias (when I had a WONID 68263 iir, was SUBURBAN_COMMANDO and I made a monochrome orange spray out of the Hulk Hogan movie poster for the movie Suburban Commando and I refused to join CT and only used the glock and the AK47.

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
I havent been honestly? for that long. I started playing FPS online with the original Rainbow Six. I had never had to create a name or anything so I went with my football mascot a pirate so that was me (thus my forum avatar). After that my next major one was Orracle (yes with 2 R's). Everyone thought I was just retarded and was trying to spell it like the oracle from the Matrix series. It was in fact the very first E-Trigger Autococker paintball gun that I thought was pretty awesome. I played most of my competitive seasons as dW^ which is simply my initials with the little up arrow because it was to cool thing to do at the time.
honestly? came about one season playing CAL-M with a friend. We would play ESEA a lot and he changed his name to seriously? because he would get those kinds of comments from the shots he would make. I changed mine shortly after to honestly? because I thought it was a better name and it stuck.

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
I had this name for a long time and I can't remember if I had any other alias for Steam before then that I liked. I was thinking of changing it a bit since the last good community (Stompfest before they stopped providing a CSS server for TF2 and other shit) I was in said I could shorten my name to EV (special characters) and use the same tags. The - dash came from a member who said I had to use it so I did since he would message me and bitch for not having it lol. I use Enlightened Viet in CSS and maybe a few other games but my little brother likes it and uses it everywhere else.

Re: Where'd you get your online alias?
My name was full of 13 year old gay.. SpYdA_ByTe, turned 14 and figured out alternating caps weren't really that cool, then turned 15 and realized who the F*CK wants an underscore in their name and dropped off the end because I had no idea how to put a space in my name.
