Hah. Yeah, it's cool to do something on your own time using the skills that you've learned and see the finished product. Going from paper to real-life is definitely my most favorite part about design-work.

That is really cool! I've smoked a lot of hookah, but nothing that looked like that. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the final product.

Thanks Ghost. It's still going to be a while before I polish everything up though - it's quite a pain to do with the stuff that I have.

Just a couple of tips for your smoking pleasure.

1. Get the best, freshest tobacco you can find, i.e. non-flavored tobacco. The best stuff I've had came from Turkey. Try to get tobacco without all the chemicals in it.
2. If you want a specific flavor, put it in the water tank. I like a lot of crushed mint leaves in ice water. That's a good smoke. Others have told me that using a good wine makes for a good smoke. Experiment with flavors/fruits in the water. Stuff like peaches, apples, pears etc. A mix of berries is good too, like blackberries, raspberries and strawberries. I bet apple juice would be really good also.

Hmm. Interesting ideas there...I generally use Al Fakher which is one of the more expensive brands, and sometimes the only brand that's available at some restaurants/shops and it always has good flavor.

I also experiment with making my own shisha (rinse rough-cut/cigar tobacco, mix with glycerin, sugar, and fruit/flavor extracts) and it's been hit or miss. It's generally been less work to just buy the cans, though.

I've tried flavoring the water and whatnot but unless it's straight vodka/moonshine it generally leaves all sorts of residue all about the inside/plumbing and it's usually just a hassle in the long run...
