I will try to answer you the best I can.

First I do not know what the new "CT" is...your words not mine. I do know that sometime next year Steam is making a new CounterStrike:"CSGO" available to the public and n00bfest will follow suit to keep up with the encouraging new players to learn/play/keep alive the game.

I have not heard or discussed with n00bfest or elders in great detail yet on what is going to happen as far as maintaing the Source package and/or a CS:GO package. That game is still a ways off from being deployed and we will see how the costs of mainting those servers will be and then we will get them. The question it seems you are asking is will we still keep the Source servers up while at the same time we are paying for CS:GO?

Answer.....We don't know yet, but I would hope it may be possible in case it sucks......but then i have said that about CZ.....but looked what they have done to CZ and 1.6 with all of the adds everywhere and players gone playing Source and others games.
So i hope we can find a way to keep both but time will tell.

Viphagen, the new Counter-Strike is coming out as a separate game and not an update (pretty sure, someone can correct me if I'm wrong).

n00bfest will definitely have a server up for both games after the release for at least a month. I can't speak for everyone, but I believe most will at least try the game.

I don't know what the plans are, but I presume they'll be somewhat similar to what happened with the transition from CZ to CSS. As far as I remember, the community stayed CZ-focused for a few weeks until sort of a critical mass of members had CSS, at which point a new server was started alongside the CZ server. After a few weeks it was clear that it wasn't economical to keep funding a CZ server when almost everyone was playing on the CSS server, and then CZ was cut off.

My uninformed guess is that unless most people agree that CS:GO sucks, the HNIC & Co will switch us over within a few weeks or months of release in order to keep the community current. I don't know how well the dollars are going; that'll probably play a big part in determining how long we can maintain a CSS server. I would guess the funmaps server would be shut down pretty quick though, seeing as even now there's rarely anyone in there ( ).

Funmaps hasnt been popular since Iceworld on the CZ server...

The swap from CZ to Source was long and awful. Very few wanted Source and had 1 guy running the server trying to populate it as much as possible until the CZ server was shut down and forced the community swap because it was the only way. Something like that will have to happen again, but hopefully, this time it will be quicker and the new server won't have time to be empty like the Source server was.
