It's really bad. Bad part is, supposedly climatologists etc. believe the drought could last into next summer, our winter is going to be an El Nina, dry and cold. Most of the fires aren't even under control, Hopefully the wind cooperates to help firefighters have some semblance of control. My buds are talking about going east to Waller and Magnolia/Montgomery to volunteer.

This sucks, hopefully you are all ok and the fires will be under control soon, too bad i can't give you some of the rain we have at the moment, it's been pouring down for about a good week and it doesn't look like it's gonna stop any time soon..

Stay safe :)

Yeah, so I went out to Round Rock to play a round of disc golf at Old Settlers Park in preparation of a tournament im in this weekend. Got there nice and early to enjoy our first taste of reasonable weather. As i was getting closer to the park (which is 90 minutes south/east of where i live) I remarked on how it was oddly foggy.. Yeah, dumb ass, thats smoke from the bastrop fire and let me tell you it was thick. Round rock has to be 60 miles or so north of bastrop. It was bad enough some dude out there playing had a mask on. It's so bad out here that for the Tourney this weekend the T.D. (tournament director) has banned smoking 'of anything' during the rounds. Bold move and quite respectable I thought. Of course gonna piss a few folks off but they ought to outlaw outdoor cigarette smoking in general right now. Cigarettes alone have sparked at least 15 fires in and around central texas.. As well as some punk ass kids from leander adding to the problem with a little arson.

I thought that bike looked similiar to that scene in Terminator 1 where the nuke goes off. Sure shit here is still relatively there. I thought of that Pripyat after I read your post Reilly, everything just covered in some kind of soot/char
