So i moved into my new apt saturday and went to get my internet/cable set up. I get there and i get a really good deal (student deal) 39.99 mo for cable and 12mbs internet. They tell me because no one has had comcast at this address for 2 yrs so they need to send a tech out. Still waiting no internet and i have to sit on campus all day to get my work done.

Does anyone have one of those 4g usb modems from Sprint? I had one from verizon for my job 2 yrs ago and it was a little slow for down loads but it got mt a 98-110 ping for CS. If sprint is as fast or faster i mught just go get one of those if comcast doesnt stop this run around shit.

heh good luck buddy. everytime they tell me "well were going to go ahead and schedule a technician to come out" I tell them to save it. The usual wait time here is 1-2 weeks.

I had to wait 3 weeks for a Uverse tech to come out and 'turn on' the connection. but cable AND 12gb for 39.99 is defiantly worth the wait in my opinion

F*CK this i am going through withdrawal i need CS and my interwebs fml. I wont wait 2-3 weeks if i do they will give me a month free because i wont pay for a month when i only get it for 1wk of that month.

Honestly, unless you've got an unlimited plan then those USB 3g/4g modems aren't really worth it for a static (generally non-mobile) connection. I know with Verizon, their $60 plan on 3g was for 5gb...a MONTH. If it was me, I'd say it's worth it to bend over and take the dong of your ISP if it means good internet - even if you have to wait.

I know that comcast has recently instated a bandwidth cap on a lot if not all of their connections, but you're talking on the order of 200-300gb; unless you watch a lot of porn you should be okay

I'm in same boat but mines cable one tey have a 50gig cap...the guy was tryn to tel me iwnt go over lol I lol'd and said ok so when I go over do u guys charge more...and apparently for my plan if I go over theywill pay the differencefor first 3 month

Ok - now I work in the Cable industry.. i cant say mach about AT&t but UVERSE SUCKS SUPER ASS... if it works it works but if you more then 300 feet from the ped, (splice box) IT WILL NOT WORK right.. its like an ethernet cable.. Telephone people will never understand ROLLOFF.. on higher MHZ. .. but i know it suck waiting for this tech to get there its crazy that they will scadual one but no one comes..

But here is the idear, U need to call in.. The more U call the more notes on you account the more of a problem you are.. and the only way they will get you stop calling is to get it fixed right.. Evantually You will get to a supervisor level - or Manager level.. THe The thrueth about the hall thing is.. YOU are a Costomer, and If you Disconect.. YOUR NO LONGER A PROBLEM.. that counts for any cable company, or phone company.. evey company has something call REPEAT CALLS.. its the same for a tech, once you become a repeat of 3 to 5 times.. in the companys Repeat call will flag you RED.. and it will come to an Manager levels.. Truest me thats how it works.. and they will get it fixed.. because you will start Costing MONEY on the BOOKs.... and make the Tech, Team, Superveisor, MANager look very bad, (to the people above Manager level )that they cant get your problem fixed.. there is a time limmit too usually within 30 days.. if you call in once a month .. your not problem because usually the repeat clock will reset after 30 days..

And llike i said.. after the 3 or 5th call you will get attanchen in a dirffent level.. trust me.. The mainttech or high tech will get the Difficult jobs and this guys really know and can get things done.. because you with in 30days a repeating costomer who looks bad on THAIR boox.. NO cable combalny Phone company really case when you say i will disconect.. because.. YOUR NO LONGER A PROBLEm.. i hope you understnad what i am trying to say..
