Kinda reviving the thread to share this that came up about Origin:

Steam has something similar but doesn't observe web traffic. It *does* see programs installed outside of steam, but that's a completely voluntary and opt-in survey. With EA, it's basically "DO WHAT WE F*CKING TELL YOU OR GTFO". I don't care about hardware logging, but watching web traffic? Not only that, making an individual profile of myself and sharing it with third parties?
Yeah, I know, cookies do the same shit for my web traffic. But I don't really care about that. I do care about scanning and observing my hard drive's contents...
Anyone else think that's kinda bullshit? It's 100% spyware in my opinion. I won't be joining ya'll on BF3 unless this shit gets patched out. As if I needed any more reasons not to install that Origin shit lol
FYI for those that care, Origin isn't required to play TOR. It is required to download the digital deluxe preorder, but can be removed once the game is installed. Hard copies need not apply :)
