It was a damned if you do, damned if you don't thing. I think raising the debt ceiling was the lesser of the two evils, especially considering the alternative is that the USA begins defaulting on it's debts.

We are going to default on our debt anyway, because the people running the government have no F*CKING idea how to pay anything back.. This is monopoly money to them, which is why Social Security is broke, Medicare/Medicaid is broke, the USPS is broke, Welfare is a F*CKING joke (not only breeds laziness but also supports illegal immigrants), etc. etc.. They will not stop spending and wasting our tax money until we show them we have had enough. We need to get off our asses and get these people out of office or we need to stop complaining from our couches. Save your money, buy guns and ammo, and prepare to fight back. Not saying we have to use them, but these idiots do control our military....

Here's the problem as i see it. The president is just a figure head, he alone does not have the power to correct the severe economic crisis that we have got ourselves into, so blaming one person is completely wrong. Too many politicians are controlled by major lobbying parties, their own greed, and the unreasonably wealthy to do anything to help this country. Those of you out there that think that Bill Gates is one of the richest guys in the world are kind of ignorant. Ive started reading about the federal reserve recently on another forum (gave Reilly the link), and honestly from what I've read, our country doesn't have much of a chance. A lot of people feel that these people in the shadows are trying to devalue the the U.S. dollar, and have a plan to capitalize on it and create a world currency, and to do this the dollar has to die. There is a lot of sketchy things that happen in the shadows that I am just starting to read about and i don't fully understand. here is the link if anyone really wants to read up on some deleted history.

But to get too far off topic, i feel the only way to bring this country back onto the right path would be to start as fresh as possible. We would need to set term limits for, not just the executive branch, but every portion of the congress and legislative branch as well. Corruption is killing this country alone.

You guys think there is a difference between Republican and Democratic parties, but there isn't when it comes to the really important matters. All they do is play "look at the pretty birdy" with most of the public with the gay rights, don't ask don't tell, and every other little thing that supposedly separates the two parties. Its all just a distraction that takes focus away from the larger agendas and no one is of the wiser. All the major decisions that presidents have made would not have changed regardless of which party was in office at the time. It just seems like the president is not much more than an expensive scape goat. THIS is why i don't vote.

I feel like, not to far in the distant future, i will choose to leave this country. Was a great idea, but all good things must come to an end.

yeah das, if you haven't watched them, you can check out zeitgeist and/or america: freedom to fascism. they both talk about the fed and all that BS. infowars.com and prisonplanet.com are popular websites for those types of things and further "conspiracy theories". i have to put that in quotes, because there is no way to prove a lot of that stuff, but i believe most of it to be true. you can also look up the bilderberg group, but i don't recommend visiting their website...

ya purple, Ive seen zeitgeist and its not very popular with me. They severely stretch the truth and use sources that are not quite on the creditable side. When i first saw it i was a new found atheist and recently did some research on the religion section of it. I would say maybe 10-20% of it correctly stated. That being said, if only 20% of the economic portion of it is correct, its still a pretty extreme problem. To clarify, i haven't researched any other part of zeitgeist other than the religion section. But there are some MUCH better books to read from what I have been reading. books you will not find in bookstores. I'm going to try and find electronic copies after i read Steven Hawking's new book i just bought :)

The problem with the FED is not a conspiracy theory in my eyes, even though, i guess, some people would say it is. I feel that there is enough dots to make an educated decision.

He clearly states he believes in the right to preserve everyone's heritage, that including white people.
