Anyone use any level of RAID for their home desktops? I'm planning to do a RAID for my windows 7 installation (going to clean install whenever its released).
I currently have a 1.5TB hd that i back up the whole computer every month but was thinking about RAID.
Maybe purchasing two more 1.5TB and throwing them in a RAID3/5?
Anyone done something like this or know anything about the controllers needed and what not (SW vs HW)?
Also, what would be my best solution for greatest speed increase as well as redundancy in case of driver failure?
And yes, i've googled it... i just want some personal experience help

I run a 1T raid 0 array, With my backups / actual data, on an IDE drive.
but this machine is a pure gamer, so i dont have alot to have to backup.

What kind of controller are you using?
I dont dare run a raid 0 with my luck, i've lost my main HD once every year for the past 4 years, and I can't take the chance of having all the data on 2 drives be lost if one goes bad

I have a 250GB HDD and a 1 TB HDD in RAID1 and they work just fine.
