Post new boat
so i went to the Chesapeake bay to go fishing for cobia with my uncle. we didn't do very well with the cobia but we caught a lot of flounder and croaker, wen we get back to his house he gave me a 115 Yamaha eng , controls ,and steering system to help me on my quest for a decent boat.so i gather up some side money i have been saving for this very reason to go buy a boat and head in to town to the local boat dealer.when i get there i find the boat i want and track down a sales person.i tell the lady that i want to buy the boat with out the eng because i have one.well she says they can sell me the boat with out the motor but it will cost me 5000 dollars extra or buy the boat with the eng for another 5 grand.now mind you the boat i want is worth 7700 with out the eng ,with the motor is 17700, the engine i worth 10 grand alone, but the want to charge me 12700 for the boat with out the motor .wtf is wrong with these people i told them there was no way i was buying an eng or paying for half of it as a penalty if they wanted to sell a boat today i would pay full retail but not a dime for the motor i would not be getting any way.i a m assuming these guys / gals dont get paid comission because we could make a deal this lady would budge a dollar.any way no new boat yet i have one more to check then i guess i will buy a used boat and keep my motor setup for a back up

I know a boat and computer are totally two different things but im sure you can.

quick google search... i built my own boat lol i dont know if you have the pick the engines they give you but also not sure what kind of actual boat your lookn for either :)

Never buy a new boat if you can help it. Boats are like most furniture. Get it second-hand and you save at least 50-75% every time.

Gman is spot on with this. I've been around boats since I was born. My parents have owned several 40+ ft boats and we're now down to about 22' jet boats, and not once have we bought a brand new boat. My father usually tries to get the previous years model, or like the oldest model on the lot. They're like 50% off, and they're never used. But brand new? Those are expensive as F*CK.

I buy everything used. I got a great deal at a thrift store for underwear with the bacon strips already installed.

You've got to shop around to find a really good deal and a good boat. When I bought my 19' searay...I looked at a lot of boats. Most people don't take of of them. The guy I bought my boat from had an unexpected new edition to the family. He was one of those guys whose garage was perfect. I knew right away that the boat had been well cared for.
