Now that Affliction is officially done, we're finally going to get to see Fedor (the greatest MMA heavyweight alive) wreak havoc in the UFC. Dana even said that once Fedor is in, his first fight would be for the title. Brock vs Fedor (poor Brock) = instant classic. I feel bad for Affliction because they tried hard and had decent success, but this is good for the fans. For the UFC fans who don't know Fedor, you're in for quite a surprise :)

Affliction had zero success. They never made any money. Every one of their shows was a huge failure in the PPV market.

And as far as Fedor to UFC, don't hold your breath. This isn't the first time Fedor has been in this position. His contract is full of garbage that will make it hard for the UFC to get anything done.

Fedor was scheduled to come to the UFC a number of times unless I am mistaken however he doesn't liek the way dana does contracting, hence why they've had issues with getting him.

Im glad they're coming back together though becuase honestly affliction was a huge part of the UFC base and now fighters can once again embrace it.

When PRIDE died, the UFC bought the rights. Fedor's contract is easily the most retarded contract for a professional fighter, pretty much allowing him to do whatever, whenever he wants. It also gives way too much power to his management company (M1 global). Before Fedor signed with Affliction, the UFC offered him way more money, but took away that power (so M1 didn't like it), and also said he couldn't fight in Russian Sambo tournaments (which Fedor didn't like). I don't see much changing. There's 3 companies that Fedor could fight for currently. DREAM, Strikeforce, and the UFC. DREAM, being a typical Japanese fight promoter, would give him everything he wants outside of the payday. Strikeforce would probably let him fight Sambo, but would limit M1's attempt at running the show. The UFC is in a position right now to be able to tell them to F*CK off. They don't need Fedor as much as Fedor's legacy needs the UFC.

I'm actually more interested to see what Vitor Belfort does. I'd like to see if he's got that edge back. 185 needs a shot in the arm and if he's back in form, he'd be a dangerous matchup for Anderson.

You know, I would've loved to see Vitor taking the place of Josh to fight Fedor..it's such a shame. As for the UFC deal, it's true that they really don't need Fedor right now but it sure would be awesome...if it happens. It has to happen now or he'll be too old and winded and it won't matter anymore.

It's sad that what happened to EliteXC with Kimbo is very similar to what happened to Affliction, with different variables. They put everything on Fedor's fight and it only took one idiot named Josh to bring everything down. You just can't put your company behind one man, even if that man is the best in the business.

dana needs to offer him two contracts to choose from. one would give fedor a big payday if he agreed to the normal UFC terms; the other would give him his normal contract but offer him significantly less money. then he can still fight in the UFC; he would just have to choose his income level.

The only reason Dana has a hard on for Fedor is because of what Brock said at the end of the fight with Mir. When he said he was going home to drink a "coors light" and not "bud light" he pissed off the Zuppa brothers which are the big money behind UFC. So now Brock has a price on his fat head. From watching the last fight Brock is going to be really hard to beat but i think Fedor could take him.

Looks like unless Fedor gets a UFC contract, he's pretty much done. Where else is he goihg to go? No one else will be paying him the amount he wants, and beating nonames isn't really going to do much for him. I hope his management realizes that.
