Been using it since about mid-beta, and now that the RC is out, I can safely say that Windows 7 is the best operating system I've ever used. Don't get me wrong, I like Vista, but it's got some serious drawbacks.

7 is far better optimized (Vista destroyed my 2.5 GB of DDR1 RAM and 5-year-old dual-core, even hard-drive access was torturous); 7 runs with almost no hiccups, consolidating all the conveniences added by Vista and toning down User Account Control (which is now a simple bar that you can find easily slide down because it's still slightly F*CKING annoying, and power-users and gamers don't need that shit).

All my games have run perfectly, all the drivers available are smooth and solid, I'd argue that it's a league more stable than XP, and it just. F*CKING. Works.

Finally, Microsoft. Thanks for gypping me on Vista, but now I can forgive you.

Above link lets you get an RC CD-key (32- or 64-bit) so long as you simply have a Microsoft Live account, and if they aren't handing out ISOs anymore, just check a Torrent site for build 7100 RC; it's what Microsoft recommends anyways, since they only distribute themselves for a limited time. You can use it 'til July of next year (when it starts annoying you and shutting down), so F*CK yeah!

You just suck a C*CK that's why you don't like it. But yea i use 7 on my laptop and it runs games that are so old that it shouldn't be compatible with but it is. I have no complaints till it starts that shut down every 2 hours next march. Till then I'm happy.

Windows 7 looks good though, but I wanted to try tri-booting (XP, Ubuntu, 7) with two different drives and I just heard that isn't as cut and dry as I'd like it to be since 7 has it's own bootloader or whatever.

I concure. I am skipping Vista all together with my companies computers and waiting for Win7. I have a couple of test boxes on my network running Win7 and they are so much better than Vista. From a systems admin view, I hate Vista. But I use it at home on my gaming rig and it runs great. I'm definately awaiting the full release of Win7 though.

Try using it on a subpar computer. I couldn't even get CS to get constant 100 FPS because of all the dumbass shit happening on my desktop. This computer would probably run it fine, but I ♥ XP. Looking forward to 7 completely replacing it though.

My work PC, haves dual booting (XP and Ubuntu) it works just great.

I installed it on my brothers desktop and its a a single core amgay with 512 mb of ram. It runs fine. Has a bit longer load times then xp but runs just fine till playiing full screen fps games. But CnC renagade runs really good.

So my grandmother's computer runs on Windows ME..this is better than 7 right,it's what I heard/.

Don't knock it till you try it and i tried it my friend. I'll never smoke weed with Willy again. But no 7 is a great free os for now.

I never said anything about hating MS, retard. I run vista on my laptop so I know it's a garbage OS. My OS of choice is XP.

Theres a few issues they still need to fix with W7, mostly visual, but its a good OS so far.
