Considering the fact that many of my friends who were extremely talented aren't even alive at this point, I'm pretty content with my life knowing that I'm here at this moment, and that I could die at any point in time. Every time I feel depressed when I look around and see others doing better, I think of the countless people out there who're nowhere near as fortunate as me. So I'd say just do your best and live in the moment. There's far more to life than getting more money or working for a well known company.

I'm also in the same boat, currently working at my college helpdesk and looking to be a full time programmer after graduating next semester :)
