Post Digital Camera
Anyone have experience with buying a decent digital camera?

I'm kind of leaning towards a Canon. Want some decent features and not extremely expensive. Probably not over 400$

It was probably one of the worst $209 investments I've ever made. I find it is extremely hard to play video games with a giant dick in your ass.

What are you trying to take pictures of ? A Cannon Rebel SLi is a sick camera they are more than 400 thoe unless you get a older one. Or a nikon they make good cameras also. I have a Rebel and I love it has all kinds of accessory's. Has a high speed shutter to its pretty sick.

This is what i was eyeing. I want something with decent features and can still fit comfortably in my pocket and isn't a nuisance to take everywhere.

Nikon d40 is a pretty hot camera. it goes for about 450 at walmart. if you want cheaper then go to best buy and ask the camera man for a cheap but good camera. Get at least 8 mp for that will be equivalent to film quality. anything more than 8 mp is better obviously.

My mom just got the Olympus FE 5010 a few weeks ago, and I got a chance to take a look at it. Very light and compact, has very good zoom for a camera its size, and quite a few good preset modes. Only issue I have with the Olympus cameras is the xD picture cards only go up to 2 gb, but at the max resolution of the camera, you can take up to about 800 pics which is plenty, even for a week long vacation.

I've got an Olympus Stylus 1030, much less zoom than the FE 5010, but my camera is waterproof up to 33 ft (the underwater pics come out really good too), 220lbs crushproof (my brother has sat on it without any damage to the 2.7 lcd screen, he weighs 240), and still works in below freezing temps (took some pics when it was -47 degrees F this past winter). This is a point and shoot camera though, so it probably wouldn't fit your needs. http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1363

tl;dr take a look at Olympus cameras, they are VERY good quality...

Found this one.

http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras ... 15505.html

Comes highly recommended by users and editors on many prominent review websites. Has a new version coming out in August apparently but i found a site selling it for almost 100$ less then most others.

Time to break out the plastic.
