Post Laptop for College
Hey its been forever since I last signed on and played due to having a crappy computer that can not run source. I finally saved up though and want to buy a laptop for around $1,000 I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on what I should get? I saw the other thread similar to this and saw dell was pretty popular anything else?

build a laptop through bell or HP and just include the biggest graphics card you can afford and atleast 1gb of ram. then have your parents buy you an external harddrive.

thats what i did...
and yes. 3 years later i can still play any game on the market...

The ASUS G50VT line is very nice. I think the G50VT-X5 is under 1k for a laptop with 4gb of ram and a 512MB Nvidia 9800 and is available from best buy.

I bought the G50VT-X6 for 1300, it came with a higher resolution display and better processor. This laptop runs CSS under full resolution and graphics on high with over 75 FPS. I haven't tested many other games, but this should handle anything you have in college.

I'll put my input for ASUS, very good quality, you wouldn't be disappointed if you went with them.

My opinion is to steal a laptop, and save the money.
