Huum, sup guys, im here to post about two points that ive seen recently on the mainserver.

1.- I realized that after making chain kills, without diying, that your points and kill rates increase in a positive way, which is a no brainer (lol youll be like no shit sherlock), but the fact is that i try hard to play (i suck), actually i consider myself competitive, althought the server is for having fun i always try my best to do things right and have fun, but yesterday i had like 1890 points and a kd ratio of 2.15, so i whas fighting a group of guys that almost ALL of them used shottys, i have to admit, they where good at it, and i got 'humilliated' all over again, i dont understand, why being killed by a shotty is a 'humilliation'?, i mean shouldnt be the other way around?, a shotty is a normal weapon, humilliating is being knifed, and thats about it, i think. Perhaps im just a rank or points whore, but if you put that kind of thing in the server, its for some reason, not just statistics, right?, because if it where for fun, you just wont include this kind of 'service' and let people not be worried about theyr ranks or ratios, so every shotty kill reduces like 30 points from your rank points and .1on your kd ratio, so i ended in 1550 and 2.10 kd ratio, and getting those points back its not that hard, but it aint easy too, having lots of good players in the server, i mean i dont have a problem with the players, but im kind of not agreeing with the system, what do you guys think?.

2.-Yesterday after playing the most popular maps, we finally changed to something different, de_nuke, i love that map, and i whas playing very good, and everyone rtv'd(exept me), back to dust 2, i mean i know it can affect the server traffic, but come on, the ones that want to play different maps, do they have to stick to pop culture(popular maps)?, and please dont flame the easy way (just leave and dont play in n00bfest), because ive been playing for a long time in n00bfest, perhaps not has much as some people, but i consider myself pretty regular, and getting back to topic, almost all will agree of changing a curent map, because there are players that just entered the game and want to play the pop-maps or players that arent doing good or players that just dont like the map, so rtv is half/half good to me now, i used to like it but now im kind of hesitating on that thought. Like purple said, rtv is too much of a democratic command on n00bfest server, i dont know if it can be regulated, or whats your opinion?.

and although i agree with you that the same maps are being played over and over, however thats for a reason. The general rule of thumb is keep the server population happy. If the majority of the players want to play a map that they like I say let them play it. Its the reason they are playing in our server instead of someone elses.

Thanks for agreeing in the first point and in the second point i see what youre going too, 1000 > 1, basic math, but what if every now and then i want to play a different map (not just me), i mean, some admins like office, so they spam the vote if anyone is interested, until they get uss there yeah, so are they lucky they just like a pop-map?, or they just do it strategically to get more people on the server, there have been time that the server is already full and whe arent like, no dont leave, well change the map to your likes, some times its like 'F*CK you dude get out and dont come back', i mean, come on man, if 1000 people enjoy to eat the same cake every time, why cant i want to eat a different cake that tastes good, every now and then??, diversity is good, i remember some admin, that whas asked to rtv to office, and he responded 'GTFO to a 24 hour office server', lol i whas like 'dayum', i think the actual map list should work for something, not just a mere 5 minute per map, if the cycle completes by any remote fact of course and i think that the n00bfest server is the best or if not, one of the best there is, and the traffic will not be affected by any manner, i mean whe have admin abusers LOL, and people keeps getting in (kind of jk), whe have people trying to revoke they'r ban so hardly, because the server is good, i think that the only hours that the server is totally empty is from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., so basically whe are spoiling some kids, i dont count on the spoil, since i want to bring some spice to the server by actuall bringing different maps, and thanks kitty for your second point post, LOL i ♥ you. Soo remove humilliation and the minus points?...

when i get up around 7:30 am CST.. i switch the map to D2.. ppl are playing usually by 8:30

nuke inferno and port are at the end of the rotation for a reason

my suggestion would be to add one new map to the rotation.. move office down the rotation to be after inferno and before nuke.

but i thoink it woul;d need to be another mainstream map.. some obscure shit will fail for sure.

the other half of that will be the admins forcing the new map to be played when it comes up.

We should turn the main server into a shottyfest server. We could have like low grav and stuff it would be awesome.

i completly agree about the shotty-does beastly damage and if kills is humiliation?(to avoid that annoying thing i turned quake off)

and i agree to about the maps. i mean i had some fun yesturdaay when we went to nuke (people dropped to 7-7) and then even happier when we rtv'd to militia(rose to 9-9).
i misss those maps not played on often and love playin with few people so it was extra fun

shotty = humiliation because corpse thought it would be funny, and to me it's hilarious to hear random newbs get on mic and ask "why is shotgun humiliation?" and i say "because you F*CKING suck!"

like garrett, i also disabled quake sounds to avoid hearing that crap, but to me dying by a shotgun makes me just as mad as dying by m4 or ak.

also, if you're a regular on the n00b server and forums you'll know that people bitch about map selection and rotation ALL THE TIME. the server has like 90% of the regular cs maps, and if you're a member here you know this and joined anyway. there are many n00bs that play on other servers in order to get the play time on maps that aren't played here.

trust me, there are some maps i hate, and there are times i play on maps i like and get my ass kicked and want to RTV. you just have to go with the flow and realize the server DOES NOT revolve around your desires (unless your name is corpse) and have a good time or connect to another server for a few minutes.

1) If we're starting a petition, I'd say no more shotty humiliations as well. And 2 kill killing sprees??...

2) Now you know why popular vote doesn't work in America. BTW Prodigy = wasted map on the rotation. It's so ridiculously CT sided, everyone just begs for rtv. Or people sit around waiting to outcamp the other team.

so by your logic half of the rotation should go. BTW ALL of these maps are intermingled with so many pleas for rtv ppl arent actully playing..

New maps wont fix gameplay issues, the players have to do that themselves.

1. Stop being a stat whore. Just play the game you'll find it better not worring about the 30 points you just lost from getting owned by the shottie. Shotties are hummiliation because it's one of the only single shot then reload weapons in a game of fully automatic weapons.

2. Don't play so much, if your on a 13 hour binge. Go out side or something. Your bound to play the same maps over and over.

There needs to be a balance between just pub maps and some EQUAL sided competitive maps ( train, russka, inferno) I looked on my servers list and there were plenty of full servers playing these maps.

Some of you complain about people abusing the rtv feature, well not everyone on the server wants to sit there and play on the same map cycle.

and de_cpl_mill (but too many people for that map)

The CAL maps aren't to happen because they don't want people downloading maps, but i would love to see a rotation include train and piranesa and i do also miss compound on the rotation, as bad as it is.

Humm, ok purple, im not saying that this ARE my needs, like you said, there are a lot of people that bitch all the time, about map rotation, i dont consider that my opinions are as you consider bitching, im not trying to impose anything, because i dont have the power to do so, i whas just giving 2 personal opinions, i didnt even put a vote or something, about shotty not being a humilliatoin. The difference from you and i, is that i get even more pised off by getting shotty killed than even being knifed. Its not that i care about the humilliation, its about the points, thats all, i know that if corpse wants to put the server down, he will, ive been a n00b member for 2 years now, and i have fun every single time, but yeah i get frustrated sometimes ill admit it, but as im bound to use 2 rifles all over again (ak47 & m4), its not like i switch to scout or other weapon, once in a while, the same goes to maps, you say that whe are bound to play the same maps, but you have to admit that we can change that (not radically).

nah dude, i wasn't complaining about your post, i was just pointing out that the server is the way it is and if things are going to get changed we have to convince corpse it's in the best interest of the server, which isn't easy to do cause he's been running the server this way for years.

map rotation we have significant influence over, but there has to be more than one or two people who want to add a certain map or augment the rotation a certain way.

if we added fast downloads, we could add as many different maps as we want, and people would be able to download them in seconds, so new/different maps wouldn't kill the traffic unless people hated the map and left. but if players used rtv then they wouldn't have to leave :)
