the pixel rate is probably so bad with that monitor that it can't keep up with the graphics rate the CPU is pushin out.

I wish I could help you out chubby, but I'm just a gaming nerd. I'm not a computer nerd. But I think it would help if you posted the stats of your computer, so that way somebody would be able to help you out better.

why waist 5 grand on an hp.

With $5000 you could build a PC 9000x better

and yes, posting specs would be helpful.
also, what do you mean "doesn't work well"
if by "doesn't work well" you mean "looks like shit" that's probably because the monitor is old.

You can go with a acer or a viewsonic or even a westinghouse if you have the money for one.

I'm assuming since you spent $5000 your computer came with some sort of badass GPU setup and you'll be able to get any size monitor you want and still run any game you want on high graphics.

I'm also assuming that since you spent $5000 on a premade computer you have a lot of money to spend.

I would suggest going to newegg.com and look over their monitors and READ THE REVIEWS. Go to their Bestsellers List, find the size you want.

With a computer that expensive I would go with at least a 24" monitor.

If you like gaming IMO this is the best monitor to get...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824236033

It has a 2ms GtG response time and ASUS iis a great company. It had the best reviews of any monitor on newegg when I was researching for a new monitor. I just got this monitor a couple months ago and it's awesome. Didn't notice any dead pixels at first but I do have one but it isn't that noticeable.

Newegg has a lot of other 24" 2ms GtG now so you might want to browse through the User Reviews to get an idea which would be best for you.

Can you list the full specs of your computer. I'm curious what $5000 gets you.

I won't flame you but it's a lot cheaper building your own and it's not very difficult if you a person who pays attention to detail.

Best monitor out right now.16.7 million colors, blackest blacks, fast response, very little backlight bleed and scales very well. And the price is sick.

Here's a very nice monitor, 20,000:1 contrast ratio, 2 ms response, 16.7 mil colors, and according to reviews, little to no backlight bleed. There's one downfall though, no DVI connection. But if you have a kick a** GPU with an HDMI connection, this is the monitor for you...

I was ignoring price... He just spent $5K on a computer. All the one's listed are great. Just read the reviews and decide which one you want. Don't pay attention to the contrast ratio 10000:1, 20000:1 it's a marketing ploy, read up on it if you want. It's just better to go over the reviews. I put a review of my monitor up there under the name MoTiV.

Sounds cool I'm sure it's a great monitor, I'm still skeptical on the contrast ratio as it's a marketing ploy used by companies trying to show consumers that they have the biggest E-penis...

I'm not sure about contrast ratio not making a difference. My brother has a LG with 10,000:1 ratio and I'm sitting here with a generic Dell monitor with 2000:1. I don't know what exactly it is, but the LG just looks sooo much better than the dell, picture quality wise(put settings to same resolution and whatnot). Vision could be right and the contrast ratio could just be a ploy, but then I have no idea why the LG is better than the Dell(same specs except the contrast)
