discuss seriously.
Would you still buy a playstation 2 knowing the facts first?
Sarcastic comments are not wanted.

I'd buy a Playstation 3 under the same circumstances... PS2 is kind of obsolete nowadays, isn't it?
Hell, I'd buy some actual blood diamonds, too.
Not sarcasm, just a strong believer of prosperity for the fittest.

I'm going to join Mike on this one, survival of the fittest. Not to even mention the DRC and most of the African Union's corrupt governments aren't going to stop such bloodshed and us not buying a gaming console will not stop any bloodshed ether, they'll just find another reason to fight and the government will just stand by and watch it; I see it to make no difference what people to do, people in Africa are always at war for something,.

Considering 100% of what we own/use/wear/enjoy was made personally by somebody less fortunate, I don't give a F*CK any more.
Ps2 forever.

I hate to sound cold, but if you boycotted everything that was made by someone less fortunate than you, you'd be living on the street naked while eating squirrels.
It's just a sad fact of this world today, and unless you have a really serious amount of cash, there's not much you can do about it.

This is like the six degrees of separation bullshit. If you follow the supply chain of nearly ANY product far enough back, someone suffered to bring it to market.
Blaming Sony for this is a crock of liberal bullshit. Thats like saying I'm gonna bake a cake and I need:
Flour
Eggs
Sugar
Misc other shit
Am I to blame for the problems of the wheat farm that generated the flour? Is it my fault the chickens were mistreated at the egg farm? What about the people dying in the sugarcane farms?
If that were the case, we're all to blame for countless crimes against humanity and unspeakable cruelty to animals nearly everytime we eat or drink something.
It's not Sony's fault, it's AFRICA'S fault. Blame the rich white man again.
Be advised, if you become successful in America and you even LOOK like a white person, everything bad that happens to other people is your fault. Get used to it.

I don't play console games, so I guess I'm saving the world!
Someone that I used to work with ran 3 businesses in Africa
A fish processing plant; a gold mine; and a lumber company.
People in Africa are willing to die for food and clothing! That is the way people in Africa are. They don't have shit!
Most of them walk around with there genitals hanging out!
Do they care that mining in a Copper mine is radioactive? No.
Africa is rough, if you live there without a bodyguard....your hardcore! (I'm not talking about South Africa)
Corpse is right, this is liberal B.S.
If the U.S. really felt strongly about the products that we buy, as far as where they come from and how there made we would be keeping most of the manufacturing stuff here in the U.S. The problem is that most of the resources that we use to make stuff come from places like Africa for example: Uranium We need this to make our bombs, so we can keep all the children that want to play there PS2's safe.
Besides, if you go to Africa and rescue everyone and bring them to the States it would just be more people on welfare.

"Coltan turns into a powder called tantalum, which is used extensively in a wealth of western electronic devices including cell phones, computers and, of course, game consoles."
You know, I've heard claims of another product that kills millions each year. People die for that product so teenagers are able to hang out with their friends and go to movies and stuff. Entire wars are started and fought over it. We should probably stop using this product.
And not to be a dick, but why is death made out to be a 1000x worse when a child dies, and blame is placed everywhere else? I saw the end of some weird movie last week when the Earth was about to end and this old lady said :
"Why is it always the children that need protection, and everything is to save the children? I've given 73 years of my life to this world, the children don't know what they're losing or living for at their age."

Point is just because you stop using it, it won't stop.
I agree with the old lady thing, but the consensus is that they've lived their lives while the kids are still young and need to keep living, continue on and all that shit.
But I hate seeing animals die in movies. Meh, I'm a softy.

The point was a life is a life. This story compares nothing to the war on oil.
And that quote by Oona King could have been worded better then to make it seem like the consumer is the bad guy. How about "...so Sony could make another dollar." She's obviously against video game violence.
Someone slap Ben Silverman upside his head. :minigun:
