You're looking in the wrong place, this isn't a problem with CS, it's a driver/directX problems.
Make sure all your drivers are up to date, and make sure the DirectX system isn't corrupt. Run dxdiag to check out the directX stuff.

yeah, if what jet says doesn't work (which it should, cause i'm pretty sure he's right) i'd look at your drivers for your gfx card and motherboard to see if they need to be updated.

If you've tried all available software fixes including re-formatting the computer, you have to consider the possibility of a hardware problem. I had a friend who had a laptop with a decent video card a while ago, he managed to overheat the laptop. The end result was the video card half melted. You could still work it in safe mode at low resolutions, but if you tried to install the drivers for the video card, windows would blue screen. Apparently some video cards can fail by causing software errors instead of simply stopping.

yeah i didn't find a driver update for the Go 7600, but you should always check nvidia's website every few months for updates. good luck man. i'm having some gfx card/mo.bo. problems myself right now, and i don't have the money to fix it...

Driver Detective is an awesome program that has a quick scan of yer computer, and then you can just dl the updates for each individual driver on yer comp. Idk how much it costs tho.. Since I didn't buy it, but it's rly sweet.
