Spyware's tricky. What's the name of the program it's asking you to install?

What processes are blocked?

What have you been doing in the past week that has been different than any other given week?

No program in particular will remove spyware. Everyone likes to think they do, but they don't. We need this kind of specific information to help you out.

PS: Google search the name of the shit that's trying to install. You'll find lots of help.

Download Spybot Search and Destroy:

(Freeware, but it is great!)

If that doesn't work, I can PM you links to some other programs that might solve your problem.

ok well im trying that search and destroy thing.

but as far as what my computer is telling me...

my background has been changed to a plain blue screen with "Warning! spyware detected on your computer! install an ativirus or spyware remover to clean your computer."

so the first thing i did was to do what it said. i installed the "spyware doctor", ran it and it got rid of like 12 different things it considered harmful. but it still didnt help

so then i tried restoring my computer to an earlier time, which for some reason i dont have a system checkpoint before june 21. no clue why but ya.

um the oly thing different ive done in the past week is watch movies online. (and i know this is proboly why my comp is fucked up).

um...other than that i cant change my desktop back to the previous settings. i am now looking at what would be considered extra large font setting on the start menu, and everytime i restart my computer it goes to the blue screen that tells me something is not working properly...

so pretty much its fucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_21

No problem, S&D works wonders.

And if you ever have a spyware problem, where it "Alerts you that you have spyware" and says, "Download program xyz" you shouldn't because it will just be spyware made to look like antivirus or whatever.

you should run scans while in safe mode,

restart computer> press f8 when its booting back up> before the windows xp logo comes out you should see a menu> choose safe mode or safe mode with networking if you want to have internet available> if it asks, choose your os > the computer will take you to the sign on screen, sign on as administrator> your going to get an error message when you finish loading ur desktop> select yes> run scans> malicious software free computer you will have /yoda

2 month trial. If you don't like it, or just don't want to use it, get rid of it after your problem is solved. If a simple scan doesn't get rid of the problem, it'll tell you it's sending an email to the company of what the problem is, and they will send you an email back(usually instantly for the easier stuff) of what to do next.

Other than that, Spybot, Adaware, and AVG.
