 My new $1189.01 toy
Many of you already know I've got an M4. My previous M4 (well, I still have it -- it'll be gone in a couple weeks) was a Bushmaster XM15E2S.
Pics of it can be found here: http://adamrthegod.net/gman/m4_leftside.jpg & http://adamrthegod.net/gman/m4_rightside.jpg
It ruled, but the top rail couldn't be removed to add a scope for longer-range shooting (yes, the M4 is very capable of that). There were a few kits that involved AFRICAN AMERICAN some sort of wedged picatinny rail on there, but I decided to be a man and spend some of my hard-earned cash on a new one with a removable rear site/handle.
I did some research, and found the Smith and Wesson M&P-15. That's what I bought.
The magazine you see in it is a 5 round magazine. Yes. A 5 round magazine. I need a low profile so that I can fire it from a sitting or laying position without having the magazine hold the thing up 6" higher than I want it to be. The idea behind getting this rifle, again, is shooting at around 100-300 yards. With enough practce, I'll be attempting the bold task of out-shooting Strange's very accurate Remington 700 magnum.
I've ordered a front grip with a bottom rail and a vertical front gangster-grip that drops down into a bipod with the press of a button.
I've got a scope for it that I'll get the rings for and mount/sight-in within the next couple of weeks.

whoa, that's nice!
It's a good thing that you have that, because you never know when you might need to defend yourself against an upcoming Zombie Apocalypse. Make sure you aim for there head.

Yeah, I already set up barricades around my house, and planted some c4 in the garden. Because you never know, if it's not zombies, it's mexicans.

very impressive, that vertical grip with the push button bipod sounds really awesome, you should post pics with it installed once you get it.
..and RussianTrix, you should check out the site K-VAR, they have a variety of AK47s really, really cheap because you have to assemble it from parts but that just makes the gun more special and personal Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_15
side note, the K-VAR website has a lot of Counter-Strike guns, some assembled and some not. really decent prices tho, and theyve been around forever.

The AK-47 sucks for what I want to do. I want to shoot accurately at 100-300 yards. The AK can't really do that.
Assault rifles are a mix between rifles and machine guns. The M16 and M4 are more like rifles, whereas the AK-47 is more like a machine gun. Hitting body-mass at 100 yards would be hard to do with more than one out of five bullets.
I got some scope rings and an old deer-hunting scope mounted to it. I'll probably go shoot it a bit within the next week, and then when I get a decent scope, get that sighted in.
