 annual tech question form Falcon
alrighty then...so since i hardle ever post in here this is my new annual tech forum question series...
i have only but a few, and would like to know simple, basic solutions, not including unistalling or power supply responses...
so here goes...
i have a lap top that ive been playing CSS on for going on 2 years with...my memory is fine (200gig), ram is ok (at 1 gig,and some other unimportant tech shit.
the questions is, my computer just doesnt run like it use to, i.e. my shit lags like a mother F*CKER and i average 13 fps on a typical day. the laptop has a nvidia 7600 something and for the most part it works just swell. does anybody know of the upgrades i should download from nvidia that would bring my card up to date. ive browsed their site before but im never sure what i need and what is jsut pointless downloads for what i use my computer for.
thanks for the help in advance...maybe
~Falcon

You've got a GeForce Go.
On the driver download page you'll want to select these options:
Type: GeForce M/Go
Series: GeForce 7Go
Product: 7800 GTX
OS: Windows XP
Language: English
Then download the drivers.
Try running disk defragmenter (Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools>) and some anti-spyware and anti-virus software. And don't forget to prune old programs and files.
Of course, that's not a complete list but it should help.

Also, for dx9 there was an update sometime in novemberish, and its not an auto-update thing so most people didn't get it, that can help you get a few more frames, make a folder when you dl it.. it puts a shit load of rar files on so dont put it in your desktop

another good thing to check out is mozilla firefox. it might not lag as much as IE. other than that a nice program to have, well two nice programs to have, ccleaner and pc pitstop optimize. ccleaner is free pcpitstop is not. but talk to me if you would like to ummmmm ya know.... aquire one.... ya..... they both will clean some shit up.
another good bit of advice is to check out laptopforums.com i have a lappy myself that i littery can do anything with, and whenever i have a problem, they have an answer. and they have a section specifically for brands of laptops. everythign is very easy to find and the such.
check it out. otherwise pm me. ive done a f**k load of research on lappys and gaming and s#!t
