Post I need some router help.
So, I have horrible luck with routers. In the past 4 years, I've had to replace my router every year from it dying.

They were all Linksys, so recently I bought a Netgear router and it just died. It's been 3 months and it's gone. Holy shit.

Is there such thing as a router that doesn't suck ass and if so, who makes it and what is it? This is F*CKING frustrating.

I've gone through 2 different Linksys without any problems. I purchased a second one because I needed a wireless connection. Not exactly sure what the problem is, but be sure to upgrade the Firmware on your router from their website (usually they take care of connection issues and security vulnerabilities.)

I've been using a Linksys for the past few years with no problems.

ive only had one problem with linksys but it was a switch, and it wasnt connected to a power strip. the rest of my routers have been excellent products of linksys. Try to hardware reset the device by holding down the reset button on the back for about 16 seconds. (all your settings will be purged as this puts the router back to oem settings) If its wireless and your not getting signal, try changing the channels
1, 6, and 11 are the best how ever many routers are coming on chan 6 by default.

Sometimes, one of the wires are short circuited or grounded, and it can damage your router, chack the lines. Other possible cause could be that the line is not shielded or it is very close to electric wires, they make magnetic fields and can induce some electric current on your broadband connection.
You may need a filter between the line and the router to protect it.
