Whoa, I think I got one of those weird pop-ups. I was surfing around, and then the whole page changed white but it had this bar above it that said "N00bfest brought to you by..."

I didn't see what it was because I clicked back quickly, but it reminded me of this.

Yes, we're running ads again. We will have side bar ads that will randomly generate until people actually advertise here by choice. There may also be "adwords" style highlighted words in the test of the site that you can hover over to see descriptive links, and you may also click links on the site and suddenly be staring at a full page style ad that has the "click here to continue" kind of thing.

It really does take over $300 a month to keep the lights on currently, so anything and everything we can do to keep the place alive and growing is being done.

I will not ask that people visit those links in the ads. Spamming the ads will only get your IP blocked by the ad company anyway. However, please feel free to visit any links you see that interest you, because checking out those sponsor sites will definately help pay the bills.

The donation given by members of this community are extremely helpful, and those people are the ones keeping n00bfest running (always have, all these years). As we grow and expand, we'll have to come up with more creative ways to keep things going, in addition to our member contributions.

Adult content? Well... we shouldn't have any "adult" ads. There may be some more mature themed ones, but I have currently disallowed porn advertising unless the offer becomes too good to refuse.

Yeah...I saw a couple at first that seemed like they could be considered "adult themed" ones (FREE SEXY CHAT!)...but clicked on them and found out they were FAR from that. So yeah....good on ya!

It's just the names... they really seems to be "Adult porn kind of stuff" but in fact they're not, and you realize that once you go in and check. Like Corpse said those kind of "Real Adult" content ads has been blocked from our ads.

Since the real issue seems to be money to keep the community going, I cant help but ask why so few ppl actually help ($$$)?

I know some ppl have paypal subscriptions (I had that too, but switch cards and now do it monthly) but I never see we getting even close to the $300.

I believe we have a weekly avg of 50+ regulars; I wonder how many can but dont help... Once a month, instead of a big mac order a dolar meal and donate the other $3...

Do you have a bank account? If yes just create a PayPal account and link it to your bank account, so everytime you want to donate to n00bfest using our PayPal Donations block it will take your donation from your bank account and no credit cards are needed.
