I got back from architecture class awhile ago from a group presentation we did on some architect and a building they've done. One group chooses Falling Water and they did a so-so job. We went up right before them and the teacher chews us out big time. Well when they go up they say "We have a video tour of Falling Water." Well guess what,

it's a damn map of Falling Water off HL2 Source Engine.

The teacher's breathe is taken away in amazement and she commends one of the students for having done such a great job, and all he did was find a link. She's almost in tears because she thought it was so great. I could hear her mumble to herself 'Oh my Gawwwd.'

If there was an award for dumbest professor of the century, I'd nominate her. This whole time I thought she was moronic, but this one really takes the cake.

Genuis. I think it's funny they actually got away with that. But you should send a link like Van said.

I don't even think the house has a good design... The aesthetic qualities of the exterior are the best part of the house, but the interior could use some work (based on movement, efficiency, walking areas)

That's just it. They put the link to that website on their page, so when they clicked it and the video loaded up (which was actually on youtube I think) it said HL2 Source in huge letters before the video started. That very second I was just like 'WTF.' And some genius in the back says 'wow, that's amazing.' Someone pass me the Cyanide dart gun.

I found it hilarious how she was analyzing the map. 'Such detail in the terrain, the materials are very similar and convey a sense of interlocking spaces here. And zomg, shadows.'

Most wrights houses are uncomfortable if you have any stature. Like if you're taller than about 5'5" He was a short guy and built short buildings.

The massive cantelever though, gotta give him props for that, and in general blending his designs into the environment/streetscape.

Re the perfesser, I would think that's plagerism if they passed it as original work.

lol at my school things that are good are always researched and people that Playgamarize are sent to jail without passing go (suspended or expelled)

That would win me, in my school a A.D, Academic Dishonesty. that would make me fail the topic, and no one would hire me on the furure...

Not sure if it would be considered plaigerism or not. It wasn't really supposed to be a formal presentation (they gave the link but no moderator name). But the page pops up on a different website and she assumes that they did it. I'd consider that plaigerism, because they didn't correct her post-assumption.

BTW, she gave us 1 and a half days to do this presentation. My group had several diagrams/photos/blueprints on the house and she wished we had done more research on the guy. She almost became offensive because we didn't know what the architect did after starting his own studio. I have no idea how she got a teaching degree.
