We are upgrading to a semi-dedicated webhosting plan, giving us significant increases in webspace, bandwidth, and resources. During the next day or two the site may be down from time to time as the transfers take place.

We have finally outgrown that standard $6-$8 a month webhosting plan, and we've had to convert to a small commercial sized solution.

Congrats to all n00bfest for growing out of control.

The good news is, we can probably discontinue our separate subscriptions for n00bfest-eu.com and plunderedbooty.com

With that much space the possibilities are endless. I have a bunch of good ideas for how to use up the spare webspace.

An extra $24 a month. I was getting the space here for $6 a month because I was paying it 2 years at a time instead of month-to-month. That way I only paid like $150 in one shot for 2 years of hosting. Now it'll be a little more of a pain in the ass to handle it monthly, and that same 2 year span that used to cost less than $150 will now cost $720.

BUT.... we should see a dramatic increase in performance. If not, heads will roll.

Well, we could upload movies and crap directly to the site, we could probably even put in a search bar. The quicker the site grows and the quicker the Community grows as a whole, the more sponsorship and donations n00bfest receives.

$720 for 2 years isn't too terrible I suppose. I actually didn't know how much webspace cost, so, now I know how well a $6/month site can run.

Holy shit all dsay today and they couldn't get the transfer completed. They had to drang and drop the files back into the old location for now, and they'll try again during non-peak hours.

In the meantime, I'll be making backups and downloading them.

If the site is laggy, it's because I'm getting my own copies downloaded for a backup plan.

Apparently, the site will go back down while they try to transfer the content again.

YEAH! I didnt know what to do with myself without the forums yesterday! I was lost! I actually had to spend time with the wife!! Now THATS torture! :)
