need some help

 need some helpi recently formated my computer (upgraded hd) and now when i watch movies they are very dard and not much color where as before i didnt have this problem. any solutions? the thing that is weird is all the games and other programs including my os looks like it should its only when i try to watch a movie.

from the sound of it it's your video codecs......or maybe you need to upgrade versions of directx

I had the same problem when i reformated my computer also. To fix it i reinstalled/upgraded my video card drivers and upgraded codecs. I dont know which actually fixed it.

what codec did you have before you reformated there are a lot of different ones out there did you have divxx?
