Ok, I read the tips on binding keys. I'm not really computer savy so I still don't understand how to bind a key so that I can switch to my side arm by pressing one button after I run out of ammo with my rifle. The whole scrolling with my mouse wheel just sucks and takes to long. Everytime I get into the situation when I run out, the other guy switches to the pistol faster and I die.
I guess I just don't know how or the process to which you bind the keys.

Do I have to use the 2 key, do i type that in the consul?

You could just do it the easy way.... Ahh, good ol' Q button.

5 button mouse wins. I only use the keyboard for reloading and movement.

If I could afford one i would have one.

I have a 3-button mouse, I made it so ALT is my secondary weapon action and right mouse is reload, I like it, except for knifing.

Q = Quickswitch (switches to previous weapon)
R = Reload
Left click = Fire
Right click = Secondary Weapon Function (silencer, knife stab, etc.)
G = Pull out HE
H = Pull out Flash

And to switch weapons just press 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 on your keyboard. The default bind is:

1 = Primary (rifle)
2 = Secondary (pistol)
3 = Knife
4 = Grenades
5 = Bomb

So if you reset all your binds to default I think all your stuff would be like this, minus the HE and Flash binds.

meh my controls are fucked to hell (invert, use the arrows, keybad and the lower right of the main part of the board, but i just use my 2 key as my previous weapon, and just pull my pistol out real fast at the start of each round...

Anal, just use the quickswitch button, but make sure that your sidearm is the gun you'll switch to. Do this by simply switching to your pistol then back your gun. That makes teh pistol the last gun you used, and pressing Q will bring it up. If you systematically switch between the pistol/gun, you'll be sure when you switch you will get the correct gun out.

Yeah.. It's turned into a habit for me to switch between rifle and pistol like atleast 3 times at the begining of each round.. or I'll take out my knife, run, take out my pistol and then take out my rifle, so pistol is my quickswitch.

I always keep my pistol on quickswitch. Helps me save my 'nades for more opportune moments.

I have a habit of hitting the Q button as fast as I can while doing anything. If I'm not hitting Q, I'm switching weapons, dodging without reason, trying to strafe jump, nading my teammates, pressing E as fast as possible, or practicing spraying before I rush into battle. Basically, I have AIDS. I mean ADD
