Shotty, kind of one of my worst fears ever..going blind = shoot me.

After I came back from thr Gulf War without a scratch on me. I was spectating a Minor league game in New Orleans sitting down first baseline 2nd row with some friends (about 12 people). 2nd inning a "pop-up" foul ball lands behind us about 5 bleachers up and my friends wife and his brothers wife were to my left and they were talking. I said you better turn around and pay attention before you get smacked in the fkn head. About 7 pitches later, I was talking to a local sportscaster to my right, heard the crack of the bat, and turned to look. It was like tunnel vision. Line drive foul ball hit me in the left eye orbit. After plastic surgery, 4 metal bars around the eye orbit, and a glass eye is all that is left. This happened 2 days before the O.K. city bombing. I have some pictures of it I will have to look for them. I had two little kids about 7 years old sitting directly behind me, so If it don't hit me, it kills one of them. Thats about the only "good" thing to come from that.

yeah...the Navy's getting me on the list to get LASIK surgery. It'll take like a year of waiting...but its free ;)

Yeah the metals bars are apart of me now. I always mess with people when they find out about it. Most people tell me they don't even recognize it until they know about it. The Doctors did a fine job I must say, also shitty that I didn't pay a fkn dime of that bill. It was shitty luck. I was probably more athletic than most of the fruits on the field. Steaky, you look like you are going to be o.k., but what ever you do with a scratched cornia, DON'T RUB IT!
