We aren't dividing n00bfest, guys. We're just opening the doors to new games for those who want to play something other than Counter-Strike! If this is all that's worrying you guys, then you should be all for it. These things we'll have under control, with people like myself running it, it's not going to be a big change.

I might not even get it because of the pre-order conent (black armor). Hopefully it won't cause unbalancing issues but just the fact that they boarded that train makes me want to boycott them. We'll see though

The purpose of this thread is to gauge interest in NS2 to see if it's worth fomenta and I setting up a server for its release, not to talk about "zomg we don't need moar gamesz!" or bicker over stupid BS.

I mean, not to be a dick, but how can anyone know whether they'll play an unreleased game enough to warrant a server. For the weeks before CS Promod came out everyone was poppin semi's over the game and our server was full for what, the first week? Then after that it was just Spyda and now I don't even think he plays.

Same went with our Beta server. We set it up, people played in it for a week, then it was full of randoms and we shut it down.

I think the best bet is to wait, see if people play it on their own, then if enough people are doing that and we'd benefit from our own server (which comes at a cost -- time to setup, manage, debug, increased load on our main and scrim servers) then we go that direction.

I want to make it clear that we're not asking people to go out and buy the game, but we are asking that people take a look into it, and if you support it or feel like you'd like to try it out, we may try to set a server up for it. :)

Fomentar, we've got about 10-15 people already really down with playing, and I think the max slots is 18 on the server (at least in alpha).
