360 or PS3?
Gogogo PS. 360 + Kinect + $50 Amazon credit = $300 at the moment.

PS3...I just like it's Media capabilities and the way it presents thing
but xbox is to PS3 as iPhone is to Android......Xbox things like the netflix app are more refined and more eyecandish. The PS3 though has a more efficient app in which things are split up by season and what not.

Re: 360 or PS3?
I have both. I've been an avid 360 fan for quite some time. (Halo nerd.)
So with each console you lose something buy going with the other one. Each console has the 'install game' feature, which makes load times quicker, however, some of PS3s games require an installation, not sure if thats true for 360 games. At least all of the ones I've played do not. With PS3 you get a Blu-Ray player, which is of course nice. Both have built in wireless if you get a newer model of 360. PS3 controllers do not require batteries, with 360, you'll go through probably an 8 pack of batteries every other month. (Unless you get the re-chargable packs/batteries.) I've found it easier to use the PS3 with media, connecting it to my homegroup, sharing videos and files etc. 360 has it's Microsoft bullcrap to contend with, but once you get it working it works fine, it just won't play everything you've got (certain extensions, don't remember a this time.)
I guess, bottom line, if you're just going to game. Get a 360. If you're going to game AND do everything else, get a PS3.

Re: 360 or PS3?
I would say 360. Here's why:
For a long time I was 360 fanboy, not really wanting to give Ps3 a chance, but when I did I was quite surprised by it. It's a great multimedia console, and the fact that you can game online for free is pretty great. However, you're limited in terms of online capability unless you pay for other services separate. This can add up. Not to mention if you do game online, you have to deal with any idiot that owns a Ps3, including their kids. Ps3 has way more twelve year olds than console I've played on. Major negative.
360 on the other hand, has a ton of great features as well, enough (IMO) to rival Ps3. Yes, in order to play online you have to pay, but it's worth it to get access to the community. Not to mention that you get ESPN3 for free, and some other services too. If you're a sports nut like me, this is awesome. The new 360 dashboard has made navigation a lot easier (IMO) as well.
To summarize: If you're wanting a multimedia console to play blu-ray, and you're not serious about gaming, pick a Ps3. If you want to get the most out of online gaming, and have access to ESPN, etc, pick the 360.
