We used Paladin as Main tank for our Illidan kill with no problem and Its almost impossible for me to pull aggro assuming I don't use all my haste at once where I tend to pop over 1.5k tps.

Geared properly and played right, any tank can tank any mob or boss at around and equal level.

Except for bear druid since they can't block illidan's shear ;o

That's why I said tank and not tank and furries.

Paladins have incredible threat wich i already knew but always thought warriors were more accepted as tanks and paladins as holy
but with wotlk coming out holy isnt going to be a great spec (according to people on the forums) I dont have beta and havent had a chance to try so I cant say first hand
But i do enjoy tanking

indeed...they are much better at handling raids compared to pallys (with the exception of shadow-elemental bosses e.g. illidan)
