BSOD.
For the past few months my cousin has been getting Blue screens. While playing games (LoL, CS:S, etc. ) or starting applications (Chrome Especially) he gets the BSOD. 95% of the time the reason comes back as ntoskrnl.exe When it would blue screen, it would immediately Blue Screen when you tried to boot it up after the initial BSOD. Long story short: 1. Ruled out over-heating. 2. Reformatted the HDD for other reasons. (currently only has a handful of things installed now.) 3. I ran memtest on his RAM, It passed. 4. He Has 2 sets of RAM. It has BSOD'd with both sets. 5. All of his drivers are up to date. I'm literally Dumbfounded, I've searched Google and tried so much. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103727 - His CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813128519 - His Mobo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820231316 - His 1 set of Ram. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820233280 - His 2nd set. Any help would be appreciated. If you need any info let me know. I'm pretty tired typing this, so if anything doesn't make sense I'll fix it.

Re: BSOD.
Try other hardware: any other PCI/PCIe cards (video card, wireless card, ethernet card, etc) you can swap out will be helpful in figuring out wtf is going on. At the end of the day, it may be something integrated on his motherboard.

Re: BSOD.
The BSOD actually gives you some idea what caused it right on it. Paging errors suggest memory issues, etc. If you can't catch it when it happens, you can usually check the Windows Event Viewer to look up the error code. Is that where you're getting ntoskrnl.exe? Also, sometimes minidumps are stored before it completely shuts down. Looking at those should give you better information.

Re: BSOD.
I've been getting that .exe from a program called WhoCrashed? http://download.cnet.com/WhoCrashed/300 ... 05821.htmlWhen I googled his problem they led me to this WhoCrashed. I used the .exe name and googled and also saw that it is usually memory related. Which is why I ran memtest. And Also switched back to his older ram to see if that would cause any problems. As far ass PCI slots the only thing he has in there is a Gtx 550ti. Would it be worth it to try switching out the Video Card for another? Also, hes running Windows 7. Just incase that has anything to do with anything.

Re: BSOD.
If you have a spare one, give it a go. Since it *sounds* like memory, the video card has memory on it, so that could be causing it when you hit it with some processing work.

Re: BSOD.
He has a Nvidia. My spare is ATI.. Is that going to cause problems? Maybe driver issues?

Re: BSOD.
Just a driver. Will have to uninstall nVidia and install ATI. Or just install ATI driver, either way.

Re: BSOD.
Hello again. Well I ran into a problem with the video card swapping. My spare card got fried. So until I have time to use mine or get a spare that will have to wait.
But he's still Blue Screening. He will get into a LoL match with us and play about 10 minutes and blue screen. All he has to do is restart and its completely back to normal.
But when he has been blue screening new things are coming up. ntoskrnl.exe (the original) ntkrnlmp.exe ( A new one) usbport.sys (Also a new one.)
Just throwing those new ones out there in case that gives any more clues. From what I've read the first two are related to each other? or at least thats what some guy said. But I'm still looking and searching.

Re: BSOD.
What revision of the motherboard is he running? It's in the silkscreen in the corner diagonal from the memory. What BIOS version is he running?

Re: BSOD.
I would find it safe to say his motherboard is the culprit. Sounds like the south bridge on the board may be damaged. The south bridge is responsible for the Usb, sata and other ports on the board that seem to be malfunctioning. Try looking for a bios update on the manufacturers page, If the board has already had its bios updated, Its likely the board needs to be replaced
