 Lag Check
Funservers tells me our installation of Adminmod on the main server and iceworld server had become corrupted and were contributing to the lag problems.
The Adminmod files have been fixed and the servers have been restarted. Let me know how the performance is now (better, same, or worse) so we can see if we're fixed now or not.
Thanks.

hrmmm...that's a bizare problem corpse. Honestly, I don't know why we use adminmod. After using both in the past, AMX has always been better as far as I'm concerned. That's my 2 cents...

I really hope you figure out what the lag is from. For a while now, I thought it was my computer, but after last night, I now know that's it isn't. I haven't been able to turn my cl_updaterate up from 10 for a couple of months now. I'm having the same prob. as vision. But anyways, I went to a server, with dirtymitch , last night, that had about 30 people in it. As soon as I got there, I was surprised how smooth it was acting with that many people in it. So I started to turn my cl_updaterate up, until I got to 101. I received NO choke whatsoever. At least I now know it's not my pc! Even though it's still a p.o.s.! lol

AMX will always be in my heart.. May it be in yours too, Corpsey. ♥ I'd be glad to make a list of commands for people to use.. A more detailed set than the list that comes with amx.. (That's why you got rid of it before, right? Many of the admins didn't like the commands it uses?) Through AMX I ask a scripter to make a special command. amx_n00b <target>, make it do anything you want.
Plus, that plugin for the funmaps server could be used if we converted to amx.

From what I've read/heard AMX is more of a resource hog than admin. I'm pretty sure thats one reason why we don't use it.

I think we are in the same boat. I played earlier today and my ping was in the 120s while everyone else was at like 60. I ping better when my updaterate is 10, but my shot registers are worthless. If i have my cmdrate and updaterate at 101 on n00bfest my choke stays a constant 100. :( But I can connect to a different server and it runs oh so smooth.

quoted for emphasis.
Used to use AdminMod on my server, it would sometimes peg the CPU's for a couple of seconds at random for no apparent reason. AdminMod vs AmxmodX (not Amxmod), Adminmod has a smaller footprint, but it has it's issues where as Amxmodx has a larger memory footprint but is not a CPU hog. It also is menu-driven, and lots of plug-ins.
Amxmodx>Adminmod>Amxmod

AMD ModX lol
Corpse, the Elite server was really acting up last night. It crashed about 5 or 6 time in the span of about 2 hours. I dunno if there's anything you or Gman can do about it.

Like they said above, Amx Mod X is the one you want. AMX mod is basically an Admin Mod clone. Admin Mod is kind of dated. AMXX has more commands and is extremely customizable.
Then again, I'm not an admin, and it's not my server, so my preference isn't really important. Just saying AMXX is best.
