Right now at home, I've probably got 6.5mb down and 450k up.

umm do the update that it says to do at the bottom when u look for servers or it might be that the server u are joining is a slow server cause the guys connection what i do is i create my own and have tons of ppl join it and its fun like that but also try to only join ones that the ping says its good or dedicated servers
