Honestly people. The gas stations aren't "out of gas." They're doing whats called lying to you. What they did, is filled up their tanks on low priced gas for like, who knows what they pay a gallon. Now when gas goes through the roof, they'll reopen and sell it to you for a huge profit.

Yes, our economy does suck. No, we're not going to "run out of gas" anytime soon, I don't think anyways. Logic would dictate no, especially if they decide to open the national fuel reserve. Gas is just going to hit record highs since the depression, and we'll have another energy crisis like in the 70s. It'll be g...suck.

All the pumps i saw have been dry here in Pensacola for a couple days now. Anyone around this area, you seen any pumps with gas? I'm almost out on my car and need it to get to work....

sorry son your wrong... gas stations do not make a huge profit off of gas... in fact they make pennies off of each gallon you pump... yes pennies... and when someone drives off and doesnot pay the gas station owner is responsible to make up for all the gas that was taken... example...

$2 per gallon...

gas station makes say .05 cents off of each gallon... it might be higher but this is a pretty number...

some fuckface drives off with $40 of gas...

so instead of making a $1 profit off of it the owner shells out $39 in losses to the gasoline company

which means the owner would then have to sell an additional $780 worth of gas or 390 gallons of gas to make up for his loss....

this is the way it works... gas station owners make most of their profit off of the snacks, cigarettes, and alcohol they have inside...

edit: some gas stations are in fact shutting down and saying their out of gas but all in all it wont affect the consumer that much... in fact instead of having them all run out at the same time it will stagger them slightly...

See...here's the shitty part I just ran into. We have gas on NAS Pensacola....HOWEVER....its for "Government Vehicles Only" which makes me mad. cuz i'm almost out of gas on my car, and when i go past there, there's NO lines what-so-ever...but i'm not in a government vehicle...so yeah...makes me mad. and no other place that i've seen in all of Pensacola has gas....

anyways the sooner we run out of the shit the better... F*CKING treehuggers running around saying "cut down on fossil fuels global warming global warming!!!!" are F*CKING idiots... everyone knows that society will never take a step backwards unless its forced to...so i say use the shit up as quick as possible so the new better more efficient energy ways can finally be brought forward instead of being hidden by the gay oil companies...

It's a good thing we started using crude oil in the 20th century, because if we hadnt all that oil that had been under the ground for 50 million years would have sprung up and drowned us all!

Vision is right about the profit margin. Also, Gas stations are only allowed to have so much of a profit margin by national law. When they exceed that limit, the are breaking the law, and will get caught. It's usually not right away since so many people are doing it, but when it all settles, they will. I watched it happen here in Florida last year after all the Hurricanes. I even know a few places that got shut down cause they couldn't pay the fines.

some places in minnesota are being fined thousands of dollars becuz their selling their gas TOO CHEAP!!! what a bunch of shit!!...

anyway think about when there is very little gas left... after awhile only the government, airline companies and construction companies will be allowed to use gas...

how in debt will this country go when we cant use our military vehicles anymore cuz theres no gas to run them????

how much will it cost to fly anywhere when all the airline companies have to build new airplanes using different fuel sources???

God damned spoiled Americans...what happened to the survivalist nature that came over with our founding fathers. Did they have cars and gas? Well they had gas but not fuel. Even if worse came to worse (which I highly doubt) and we ran out of gas, it's not the end of the world. Hell, I bet with how unorganized we are as a nation we'd take a technological step back (unless your really rich) but it'd be for the better of our people.
