and somehow you think that fixing those pipelines is going to fix the gas price problem....let me let you in on a little secrete

It Won't

Last year here in Central Florida with the hurricains gas went from 1.50 to 2.20 per gallon...when everything was fixed did the price go back down?....NO...there are federal laws against gauging...namely jacking up the price b/c something is in low supply...

Too bad the whole plan is to gouge gas prices so that people are wary of buying it so hopefully we won't run out. Oops.

I bet you all those dumbfucks who went out and bought SUV's b/c of the tax break didnt' see this one comming

think about it
5 years ago...gas price avg was 1.00/gallon
30 gallon tank was 30.00 to fill

last year we broke the 2.00 avg/gallon
30 x 2.00 = 60.00

now we're at 3.00/gallon
30 x 3.00 = 90.00

with an overall avg of 22 mpg thats $0.14/mile
where as less then half a decade ago it was only $0.05/mile

at this rate of increase in 10 years it will cost you approx $1.26/mile to drive anywhere

How far is it from your home to your work?...multiply that by 5 days in the week...then take a look at how much your paycheck is per week....is it still worth it to go to work?

EX: 26 miles to work
26 x 1.26 x 5 = 163.80

Did you remember round trip?

163.80 x 2 = 327.60

$423.80 just to go to and from work for one week

now lets work the other in of the equation
income inflation is .06% / year
minimum wage is $6.15 here in orlando

6.15 x 40 = 246.00
246.00 x 1.06 (repeted 10 times - for ten years) = $440.55

$440.55
-$327.60
-----------
$112.75 this will be your weekly takehome in ten years at minimum wage

PS: By the way...thats not including taxes and medical

Have a nice day!

This has made me change my political position on one item: Minimum wage.

People making minimum wage have some of the shittiest, non-efficient cars (if I might be allowed to sterotype for a moment) and they make the least money.

I don't see how a part-time minimum wage employee can make enough money to get back to work the next day, depending on traffic and their distance from the workplace.

I changed my mind.

F*CK 'em and let 'em walk bowlegged to work.

I heard someone make a good point last week....

"if we didn't take crude oil and make fuels out of it, what else would we do with it?"

Same with coal. It's there, it's natural, let's use it. In the meantime, let's develop the new strategies. Is crude oil still being created by the earth as part of a natual process? Some say it is. Many have referred to it as a "fossil" fuel, meaning that it came from decomposing dinosaurs and plants. Others are now begining to argue that is not the case. The creation of crude oil and coal may simply be a part of the earth's natural state of being. The earth may be generating those things simply as a part of it's existence.

Let's carry that theory to the farthest extreme, 8 billion years from now after we stopped burning oil and coal products:

Crude oil leaks everywhere. The water table is contaminated with it... geysers of crude spring up in school yards, covering the children with oil. The TV shows pictures of the poor little tykes flapping their oil-covered arms in failed attempts to fly while they trudge through the muck.

Burning crude oil products is self defense! We have to stop the oil before it kills the children!!

there are a couple of holes in your theory corpse...first off we (humans) didn't start to pump and burn oil until sometime in the past 200 years...whereas if it has been a natural process throughout the history of the planet it's been here much longer then 65 million years (approx time of the extingtion of the last dinasours)....there would be no contamination of the water tables....and if it was caused (mostly) by the death of such fossil creatures....we have more bodies of people in just weight every day then the dinasours did for an entire year...

so remember folks...don't get creamated...have your body buried in your back yard so that your decendants will have oil rights in their backyard in a million years....

and while we're at it...start digging up graveyards and pumping oil instead of F*CKING with the Muslums
