Post After the servers move...
When we get through with server conversions and copying our MOTD and some of the configs over to the new uber-n00ber servers, we'll work on getting the downloads section fixed, and an FTP or other file posting setup so people can send things like screenshots, demos, and steam skins.

We already have FTP accounts for some members, but those are just for personal storage, and they only have things like: pictures of oreX's mom, Kano's gay porn, and Strange's collection of sheep pictures. Nothing really useful to the rest of us.

I'll just have to keep an eye on the usage. We're allowed 50 Gigs of bandwidth per month for the site (you would think that's plenty). We used over 30G last month, and about 20G of it is forum traffic. So we could easily move 10G of files through here each month without going over.

If it looks like we're going to start going over our 50G a month allotment on a regular basis, I'll get us upgraded to the next level. It'll be cheaper than paying overage penalties.

Keep that traffic coming and keep spreading the word. The [Pirate] clan will be back in action this weekend also, spanning the globe, plundering, and spreading the word about n00bfest.com to those who are currently deprived of it.

(No copyright materials allowed to be uploaded, see the Pirate clan for their private, off-site stash, legal disclaimer, DONE.)

LOL, im never going to leave these forums :) keep seeing stuff to post about.

Dont mind me asking, but what is the file space that you currently have?

Dont pay to upgrade, if you go close to going over. Let me know, Sure I can throw you about 100GBs for what you guys are paying now.

I only have 1G of file space right now through JaguarPC. We use about half of it at most, and the majority of that is just cold storage for people's private closets.

I signed up for their "gigadeal" last year and pre-paid for two years' service in advance, which brought it down to like $7/month with a 50G traffic cap. But we might be needing the next level of service, so all things are negotiable.

Before that I had hosted it on the game machine. I moved it thinking it would help with the lag problems.... NOT.

That's what happens to most people here. People have starved to death sitting at their computers, lost in the n00bfest forums.

Be careful, you lose 2 IQ points for every hour you spend here. By tomorrow, you may not be able to feed yourself without poking a fork in your eye.

1400GB of file space + 100GBs of Bandwidth = Free

When you host 260+ servers http://funservers.net/uglygs/stats/ you can afford to help out other fellow gamers.

You have my email :)

when the site first came up each admin (including me somehow) had their own ftp space but I never used it for some reason, now I have to threaten friends to give me a bit of ftp space, it seems like I always need to upload something.
